I got a voicemail from a woman saying I’m being investigated for a crime and that my house is being watched. It definitely felt like a scam but the way she spoke was really calm and believable. Just be careful. Big thanks to the people running this site for letting us share these kinds of stories.

Today this number rang me but I was tied up so I didn’t answer, letting it go to voicemail instead. The voicemail was some sort of automated warning claiming I’m the main suspect in a “legal case” against me and that my home was being watched. They told me to ring back immediately or else I’d face criminal charges. The caller ID showed a Liverpool area code. I’m definitely not planning on phoning them back, but I’ll be keeping an eye on them from now on!

I was nearly tricked into handing over nearly £700 because they claimed I hadn’t paid some VAT and threatened me with jail. Luckily, my partner saw through it and stopped me before I lost any money.

Just got a message from this number warning me I’m involved in some investigation and that my home’s being watched. They said if I don't get back to them soon, I could be prosecuted. Honestly, this sort of call could really scare folks who are vulnerable or living somewhere safe because of threats.
