01514560679 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01514560679 👆 is reported as a persistent scam caller often using a Liverpool number but potentially spoofed, targeting BT customers and others. Callers falsely claim to represent the Telephone Preference Service or similar entities, offering to sell call blocking services for a fee or requesting personal details, including bank or Amazon account information. They employ varied accents and occasionally use rude or pressuring tactics. Many recipients report silence, hang-ups, or repeated calls with no message left. The consensus is that these calls are fraudulent, seeking sensitive data, and should be disregarded or blocked. Vulnerable individuals are at particular risk, and official TPS guidance confirms the service does not make unsolicited calls. Users are advised to remain cautious and avoid sharing any personal or financial details.

I've seen this number pop up several times in my missed calls, but my phone doesn’t ring because I've got a blocker set up, so they never actually get through. I use a BT landline, and I reckon this might be some kind of scam that’s fishing for BT customers’ details. I've reported it as harassment already.

Today I got a call from 0151 456 0679, some bloke with a really heavy Russian accent. He said he was from the Telephone Preference Service and that he could stop all the annoying calls for a charge. But I just hung up straight away ’cause I know TPS doesn’t cost a penny.

Got a call from this number, but I just let it ring out since it seemed dodgy - we don't know anyone in Liverpool anyway. They didn’t bother to leave a voicemail.

Got a call on my landline from 01514560679 on the afternoon of 1st June 2022, around 1:47pm. I answered but there was nobody on the line, which was really irritating. Feels like whoever’s behind this might be listening before calling back and pestering people again. After seeing other comments about this number, I’m pretty sure it’s dodgy and could be some sort of scam. Wouldn’t trust it at all.

They kept ringing me non-stop, clearly desperate to get hold of my bank info. Definitely felt like a dodgy scam, ignoring my preferences entirely. Proper annoying!

There wasn’t any direct conversation, just the distant hum of people chatting in what sounded like an office environment.

Got calls from 0151 456 0679 but only ansafone answered, no one left any message. It rang on 28th May at about 8:50 in the morning, also on the 16th May around 1:15pm and earlier same day at 10:20 am. Pretty random stuff.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be Lisa, saying she was ringing on behalf of the Telephone Preference Service about improving their service and offering a blocking gadget. She passed me over to someone called Kevin, who asked for £25. I told them I wasn’t interested and doubted TPS would be cold calling before 9 in the morning to sell stuff. They said they were based in Ruislip, but when I checked the caller ID it showed a Liverpool number. They were polite enough, but there’s no way this was really the TPS.

I had a rather dodgy call from a chap with an accent that obviously wasn't local. He attempted to wrangle my Amazon account information, claiming that there’d been an order for an iPhone made under my name and insisted he needed my details to confirm who I was. It was quite clear that it was a phishing attempt!

I was taken aback thinking it was a relative calling, but instead I got this incredibly rude woman with an Asian accent who started shouting at me before hanging up suddenly.

I picked up and the caller just ended it straight away, probably some kind of scam.

I got a call from a lady who sounded like she was from India, working in some loud call centre. She actually knew my name and told me she was ringing from the telephone preference service, doing a kind of follow-up call. She asked if I'd been getting annoying calls from firms. Honestly, the voice reminded me of someone who had called me two times this week trying a BT scam.

I got a call from a woman with a strong Indian accent who claimed to be from something like Call Protect. She somehow knew where I lived and kept asking how old I was. She said my BT account showed the Call Protect service was about to end and that because my credit card was nearly expired, I wouldn't be covered anymore. It all sounded fishy to me, so I just hung up. I reckon someone more vulnerable could easily fall for this kind of call.

Got a call from a number 01514560679, and it was a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from the telephone preference service. She already knew my name and address, but then asked for my date of birth to "activate" the system. I told her to shove off straight away. Definitely a huge scam going on here!

It seems they've decided to impersonate the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), which is a bit rich since the actual TPS never rings you up! When I confronted them, they promptly ended the call, very dodgy if you ask me. During their scripted spiel, they had the nerve to claim that an expired call-blocking service was the reason behind all these nuisance calls. I checked my caller ID and it didn't show the number, but I did spot it when I dialled 1471, so clearly, it's a spoofed number.

Got a call at 11:02 today, but thankfully call guardian stopped it. No voicemail or anything left. When I tried ringing back, the number didn’t come up on my phone. Blocked it just to be safe - felt dodgy.

Someone keeps ringing me up, asking for the old owner of this place by name. Normally, I just cut the call straight away, but this time when they asked if I was that person, I said no. Then they wanted to talk to them, and I said they weren’t here. After that, they just ended the call.

This morning, around 8:35am on 20/05/22, I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. She somehow already had my name and address and asked if I was still using a credit card ending in xxxx, which supposedly expired on 31/05/22. She said I needed to update my info so the RPS could keep my home phone number active. I told her the TPS is a free service, refused to share any details, and said I was ending the call. She tried to keep talking but I just hung up. KE Grangemouth, Scotland.

This Liverpool number, 01514560679, keeps ringing me nonstop. Every time I pick up, there's no one on the other end. It’s super annoying and feels like a scam to me. How come nothing's been done about this yet? Who’s behind these calls?

I was approached about a service to block unwanted calls, which is a bit rich given they're clearly part of the problem! When I declined to provide my card information, the same individual rang me again just moments later, using a different number (02080904280). They claimed our conversation had been interrupted and insisted I continue sharing my card details. It’s quite alarming, really-some unsuspecting individuals could easily be misled by this sort of fraudulent activity.

This bloke with a South African sounding accent rang me up and asked for me by name. When I asked who he was, he claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Management. I told him I didn’t reckon that was true and just ended the call. I’m definitely signed up with the genuine TP Service already.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon, they even used my name which was a bit unsettling. It was a bit late, after 7:30pm, but they reckoned it was ok this time as they knew they’d interrupted my night. The accent wasn’t British either. I told them straight up that I don’t have any Amazon account. Hopefully that means I’m off their shady list now.

Got a call from 0151 456 0679 claiming to be Amazon, saying I’d bought an iPhone and needed help cancelling it. They asked me about my IP address and whether I was using Safari. I told them I hadn’t ordered anything like that, checked my account, and then just ended the call. Sounds like a total scam.
