Got a call from someone called Nick at First Call, he said there was a car crash a couple months back and made it sound pretty genuine. But he wouldn't give any real details which felt dodgy. When I asked for some info about me or the accident, he just refused. I tried to get at least the car model from him and then he just said goodbye and hung up. Pretty clear it was a scam.

Some woman called, said she was from a car repair place wanting to check if the work was done right and covered by insurance. When I asked what repairs she meant, she couldn't say. I told her to remove my number from their list cos I reckon they're con artists. They keep ringing me, switching up the last two digits of their number each time, so I've had to block them repeatedly. This number isn’t just annoying, it’s proper harassment. In the last fortnight I've gotten more than 20 calls from them.

Got a call from a bloke with a really thick Liverpool accent who said he was from the RAC or AA. He asked me about any accidents I've had in the past two years, but thankfully I haven’t had one (fingers crossed). I just told him no thanks, ended the call and added the number to my block list straight away!

Got a call from someone claiming I'd been in a car crash that wasn't my fault. She mentioned Cigna, but when I checked their site, it clearly states they don't do cold calls. Anyway, I just hung up and blocked the number straight away. Felt fishy to me.

This number popped up on my phone, rang for a moment then cut off straight away. Pretty sure it’s just one of those scam or dodgy calls about accidents or something, which I get all the time nowadays.

I get loads of irritating calls from numbers I don’t know, so I just ignore them. They never bother to leave a message either. It’s been going on for several months now. Even when I block one number, another pops up calling me.

Somebody rang me up saying they were from a charity, asking if I wanted to make a donation. I told them no and hung up straight away. It’s not that I’m against donating, I just don’t trust giving money over the phone or online - it feels dodgy to me. I prefer giving to charities in my area that I know are legit.

Got a call from a bloke with a Northern twang who somehow knew my name. He called himself AAC, so I asked what that stood for. He replied “Aftercare Accident Centre” and claimed he had a record saying I’d been in an accident within the past six months. I told him straight up that wasn’t true, and he was nice enough to apologise and said he’d take me off their list. The numbers ended in 6648 and 6647, same company it seemed.

some bloke with a Liverpool accent called me by my first name. i asked who it was and he said aac or something like that. he said it was about a car accident and some damage to my car that had been reported. so my partner decided to ring back from our landline, using 141 before the number, and some lady picked up on the other end.
