Someone rang me and wanted to speak to me by name, so I asked who was on the line. They said it was AAC. I’d never come across them before, so I asked what AAC meant, but the caller said they could only explain that to the person they were trying to reach. I ended the call there.

Got a call from Liverpool, saying there was an accident I wasn’t involved in. The person on the line had a rude manner and a strong scouse accent. Seriously, don’t pick up and just block the number.

picked up the phone and he asked about some accident i supposedly had, which was not true. he was trying to offer me some kind of payout. told him he was wasting his time and i didnt want anything to do with it. now ive blocked the number.

Just got a missed call from this number. Cheers to everyone who shared their experience. Seems like a scam, though I’m not sure what they’re trying to get from it. Most people probably haven’t been in any accident, so best to just ignore it. What worries me is how they managed to get my number in the first place. I’m aware phone lists get sold about, but honestly think they shouldn’t be. If those selling these lists were held accountable and fined for the spam calls that follow, maybe it’d put an end to all this. Might be worth Ofcom having a proper look into it?

Got two calls from this number today and I’m pretty sure it’s dodgy - honestly can’t stand these sorts of calls anymore, especially with all the COVID 19 mess going on. The last thing anyone wants right now is to be hassled like this. Bet they’re just trying to catch people when they’re already stressed and unsure. How come these calls are still allowed? Why isn’t it illegal to ring people like this? It’s so unfair that nothing’s being done to put a stop to it!!

Got a call from a lady who wanted to speak to me by name. I asked where she was calling from and she said something about AA accident insurance. I asked her again to repeat the company name but she just kept going with her spiel. When I didn't say anything, she just said 'Alright then' and ended the call.

Got a call about a supposed road accident claim. I said I was ready to talk it through and that I'd fetch my documents. Then I just left the line open, not speaking, till they gave up and hung up. Sometimes the best way to deal with timewasters is to waste their time back. Number’s blocked now.

Crash con artists. They rake in loads of money from people who fall for their trick. It's a complete waste of time blocking these numbers as they just keep switching them. Make sure you report every scam call to the police. Just google 'action fraud' and find the 'police.uk' site. Head over to the 'reporting' area and submit it as a phishing scam. You don’t need to sign up or anything. The cops need all these reports to get a good picture of how big this problem is. Reporting on the police website takes no longer than leaving a comment here.

Got a call from someone named David, claiming to be from an insurance company, but he was quite pushy and dodged any questions about data protection or GDPR. When I asked for the details of his company's data protection officer, he didn’t have a clue. I recorded the entire chat and noted down all the other Liverpool numbers they’ve used. I've sent everything over to the ICO to look into it.

My daughter overheard me chatting with someone about a fake accident I’d apparently been in - obviously I was just making it all up. She found it hilarious and wanted to join in. So she called the number back and, using a posh accent, asked for the man’s full name and date of birth, which he gave her without hesitation. We were both cracking up so much we could barely stand!

I've had this pesky number ring me several times without so much as a voicemail, which was rather annoying. In the end, I decided to return the call, and it connected immediately without even a ring. A woman with a distinctly Liverpool accent was on the line and seemed to know me right off the bat!
