It's not actually a scam, it's a debt collection firm named Ardent Credit Services, connected to HMRC. I got a text from them about a VAT payment they said was overdue, even though I’d already sorted it weeks before. When I called them back to clear things up, they were very professional, which is rare with debt collectors. After I sent them proof that I'd paid, they promptly closed my file.

Hello, I’ve been getting messages from someone saying they’re with HMRC, using the name ‘DRS’. The text asks me to either ring 0151 329 3702 or follow the link my-drs.co.uk to supposedly check on my HMRC bill with reference number ‘11461858’. I’m pretty sure it’s all a con and just wanted to flag it here so others won’t fall for it and can stay safe. Cheers.

This definitely seems like one of those scams. They sent me a message claiming my business owes £400 to HMRC, but my accounts aren’t due for a while now. Plus, the info they had on file was completely out of date. I’m just going to disregard it and not waste any time on it.

I honestly don’t understand why their website displays a CFA "logo". If anyone there is actually a CFA, they must be violating professional regulations and really should face removal from the register.
