Great website! My telephone number is unlisted, but it seems like this doesn't make a difference in this age of technology. Luckily, we recently bought a phone that has the ability to block unwanted calls, once you configure it. It's frustrating how these people keep calling incessantly after acquiring your number, until you either answer or they target another unfortunate individual. Depending on my mood, if I do happen to get caught off guard, I ask them specific questions about where, when, which accident, which vehicle, and who provided them with this information. This usually amuses me because they are unable to provide me with that information due to data protection regulations.

Got two calls from this number today, both to a business number that’s ex-directory. Sounds like some call centre from outside the UK. They claimed I’d been in an accident back in January, which I know never happened. I asked where they got their info and they said “Road Safety UK” - total nonsense. When I asked how they got an ex-directory number, they just hung up straight away.

I received a phone call from a man claiming to be from the department handling accident claims. Curious, I asked him to clarify which specific accident he was referring to. He stated it was one that occurred last year. Unimpressed, I pointed out that as the one initiating the call, he should be aware of the details regarding the accident in question. This response seemed to greatly fluster him. I proceeded to ask several more questions, inquiring about his personal identity, his company's name, and other related matters. The confusion grew to the point where he eventually hung up the phone in frustration.

Asked for his firm’s name and where they were, he mumbled something like Lawyers & Attorneys from Liverpool, which doesn’t seem real. I received a call from the aforementioned number earlier. The person on the other end claimed to be from the National Accident Helpline and said they had information regarding a road incident in Oldham. They asked if I had been involved in an accident, which I declined to confirm. The caller then became quite disrespectful, talking over me and demanding that I listen to them. I made it clear that we were registered with the telephone preference service and asked them to remove our number from their contact list. However, they insisted they would only do so once I acknowledged being in an accident. Despite reiterating my desire to stop receiving calls, I ended the call and hung up.

Tried to get in touch with someone at my address who supposedly had an accident in the past couple of years. When I asked for their name, the caller said it was confidential and that they got the info from the Road Safety authority. I told him there’s no such place, but he argued and wouldn’t back down. Kept demanding to speak to this made-up person. I asked who exactly he wanted to talk to but he wouldn’t say. Surely some folks might fall for this nasty scam. I just laughed and hung up on him.

On 6th July 2016, a woman claiming to be "Elena" from something called the National Accident Hot Line rang me up, asking to speak to whoever had apparently been involved in an accident in the last two years linked to my phone number. I told her straight away she sounded like a scammer. She denied it at first. Then I asked for the injured person's name and when the accident happened. She said that info was secret. I told her again she was trying to scam me, then ended the call.
