Both our phone numbers, which we've got registered with TPS and not on any list, got rings from 0151 324 5501 today. Every time we picked up, the call just cut off. It's really frustrating cause even using 1471 to check the caller, it shows a fake number. Plus, when I try calling back, it just says "number not recognised." Seriously, when will BT start doing something about these annoying calls?

Had the exact same thing around 4:30 this afternoon, some Indian bloke was talking about my holiday insurance claim. Thing is, I haven't been on a holiday in 15 years since I look after my disabled mum! When I told him that, he just didn’t believe me and dropped the call. Definitely a total scam.

Just got a call from some bloke calling himself "Kevin" claiming to be from "Accident Care" on 01513245501. Honestly, I've heard every scam line going but this one takes the biscuit. I just shove the phone in a drawer and let the call ring on and on. Seems to do the trick 'cause I don’t get calls from them again for weeks. If they reckon I’m daft, they’re the ones missing the mark. Makes me think what a drawer sounds like inside - probably just as dull and miserable as their calls.

Looks very dodgy, considering legal papers were just sent to solicitors about someone who’s basically wrecked my life after a car crash. Just got a call saying there’d been a car crash. I told them I could track their number and to stop calling me. They claimed to be some legal company and said go ahead, trace us if you want. I made it clear I knew it was a con, but they kept pushing, so I just said whatever and ended the call.

Got a call from an Indian call centre saying it was about a crash I had on the roads in the last couple of years. Told them my number is on the TPS and that they weren’t allowed to ring me. It’s clear that this is a blatant scam. Interestingly, they had information regarding an accident I experienced last year. After engaging in a lengthy chat about the specifics, they attempted to pressure me into filing a compensation claim, insisting I had sustained injuries, despite my clear reassurances that this was not the case. When I grew frustrated and firmly stated that I wouldn't engage in any sort of dishonest claim, I hung up. Just 15 minutes later, they rang back, claiming to be a senior member of their team who was convinced I had grounds for a claim. They tried to coax me into proceeding without needing a medical report. I reiterated my refusal to partake in anything fraudulent and brought the conversation to a close.

I received a call on my home phone from someone with an Asian accent and a rather raucous environment behind them. It was difficult to grasp what they were saying, to be honest. Without a doubt, this is a fraudulent caller. I've already flagged the number with my broadband provider after they attempted to inform me, in hardly comprehensible English, that my internet service was on the verge of being cut off for an entire month! Upon checking, that simply wasn’t true. When I inquired about his name, he claimed it was 'Kevin Smith'-how utterly uninspired! He also tried to share some sort of code, yet it was evident he hadn’t the faintest idea about the phonetic alphabet. I’ve since blocked this number. It’s clear this is not genuine at all; just another scam attempt.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from TalkTalk. I told TalkTalk about it. They said my router was the issue and asked me to plug my computer into it. Then they got me to visit a site where they could see my screen. After that, they claimed I was due a refund for trouble and asked for my bank info, all while watching my screen. There might be other tricks too, but basically, it’s definitely a scam number.

If you’ve got scam callers ringing you, make sure you report them to the ICO (assuming you’re on the TPS already) and any silent or dropped calls to OFCOM. These spammy calls don’t care about messages here, but they definitely take notice when you report them to Ofcom or the ICO - it only takes a couple of minutes tops.
