Somebody pretending to be from Liverpool Council housing repairs called me. I live more than 200 miles away and have never even had a council house. When I asked where my info came from, she said it was from their database. I tried explaining about data protection and that they need permission to use my details, but she didn't seem to understand, probably 'cos her English was so bad. Why aren't the cops doing anything about these rude, annoying time-wasters? They're clearly breaking the law by buying personal info.

Got a call from someone saying they were looking into cases where council or housing association tenants weren't having repairs done by the landlords. I got a phone ring but the moment I picked up, they hung up straight away. I tried calling them back, and when I asked how they had my number, they claimed it was me who had called them first. When I pressed them about the first call, they just ended the conversation abruptly.

Got a call from a woman named Tanisha with an Indian accent claiming she was ringing from my housing association about some repairs delayed because of Covid. She ended up chatting to my cat for about 10 minutes while slipping in requests for my card details and my date of birth. Strangely, she never asked for my surname at all.

Don’t say a word, they’re total scammers and rubbish actors too. Definitely a scam. I didn't pick up but rang back using private number. A woman with an African accent said her name was Sarah and she was from the Housing Dept asking about my property. I told her it was in Norwich (which it isn't!) and then she began talking about urgent repairs and wanted my info. She claimed to be from Liverpool, so clearly a con. When I asked for her full name, she just said Sarah again. I then told her I was with the Fraud Squad and she just cut the call.
