Just a couple days back, I got a call about some Visa authorisation thing, and yesterday it was an Amazon Prime scam ringing me up. It feels like I get these dodgy calls almost every week. When it’s one of those pre-recorded messages, I usually just let it run its course before I end the call, and I never reply to them. If it’s a real person on the other end, sometimes I’ll chat with them a bit just to waste their time before I hang up.

Never share your personal details on calls you didn’t make yourself, even if the caller sounds genuine. These days, fraudsters can fake caller IDs to make it look like it’s your bank or credit company ringing. If you’re unsure, politely ask if you can ring them back later. Genuine companies won’t mind, but scammers usually push you to keep talking right away.

I got a voicemail supposedly from ‘Amazon Prime’ saying my subscription was about to renew for £79.99 and to press 1 if I wanted to talk to someone. I just ended the call straight away. After looking it up online, it seems loads of people are getting these scam calls, but the phone number keeps switching. Be careful out there! :(
