I think these are scammers trying to get your private info, maybe to pull off other dodgy tricks. Really risky stuff. When I tried calling back, it said the number isn’t connected anymore, so I reckon the Caller ID was faked or it was some recorded message.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from TPS, saying they were upgrading a service I've never even paid for. They promised they wouldn't ask for my card info unless it was about expiry. I refused to give anything since I don't want their services. They already knew my postcode and asked if I owned my home and if I was over 85 - I told them I’m only 70. Then the person started shouting at me, so I just hung up. They rang straight back, which was annoying. I had been waiting for a call from the hospital, but it turned out to be the same annoying caller again.

Just had a call from 01487 208554, some bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from the Telephone Preference Service. He told me there was an update to their service but wanted to check my direct debit and card info. When I said I didn’t have the details handy and asked for his number so I could ring back, he said I’d get it after verification. I told him I’d call later, then he just hung up. Definitely a dodgy scammer.

Yesterday I got calls from this number like half a dozen times. The bloke claimed he was from the TPS and promised to put an end to all telemarketing calls, then tried to get my details. I used BT Call Protect to block him, but now a different number, 01487 208554, keeps ringing every 20 minutes with the same nonsense. Honestly, it’s the same guy - proper pain in the neck!

Yesterday afternoon they pestered me with 6 calls. I’d already blocked a number that was almost the same and used the same annoying tricks but now they’ve switched it up a bit and are at it again. It’s really gotten on my nerves. In the last four days I’ve had over 20 calls coming from 9 different but very similar numbers - all just as bothersome.

About 17 hours after I posted, I heard back from Net-Work Internet. Seems like the caller ID (don't ask me what exactly that stands for) has been faked. So, this number isn't actually theirs for real. Honestly, don’t bother reaching out to Net-Work Internet - they can’t really help with this, which is a bit frustrating.

This number keeps ringing me non-stop for days now, it's really annoying. I picked up a couple of times, and some bloke who said he's Mike from the Telephone Preference Service spoke to me. I’m pretty certain it’s a scam, so I told them I wouldn’t discuss anything. They should be blocked asap - it’s such a time-consuming hassle and honestly quite irritating. They call at all hours, even during the evenings and weekends. Absolutely awful!! They ought to get blocked and hit with a fine, or something stronger, for causing so much trouble.

I just picked up a call from this number and some bloke with an Asian accent who said his name was Mike claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service. He wanted to know if I was getting any spam or nuisance calls that needed blocking. I told him yes, actually I was getting one right now, and joked that he should start by blocking his own number. Then I ended the call. Just a heads up, my local police have put out an alert about a scam where they try to get you to pay for call blocking but end up charging you repeatedly.

Somebody rang saying they were from the Telephone Preference Service, but when I questioned them, they got all worked up with a thick Indian accent. They said I could tell the police about it - something like 'phishing city of London Police' - and they might look into it if they have the resources. Definitely sounded dodgy to me.
