I keep getting calls from some bloke who rings me about four times daily. He claims he's with the Telephone Preference Service, but when I told him he was clearly a conman and asked if he ever told his kids he spends his days nicking old folks’ savings, he just kept going through his usual spiel like nothing. It was some loud bloke from an Indian call centre, I couldn’t make out much, but he said something about the Telephone Preference Service - I just hung up straight away. Then they were ringing back in about half an hour! Over the past three days, I’ve had about 10 calls from a bunch of different numbers, all pulling the same scam nonsense. It's so frustrating because as soon as I block one, they just ring back from a new number.

The person on the phone had a strong foreign accent, and there was loads of background noise like an office or something. They asked if I was Mrs W and claimed they were calling to stop all my unwanted calls starting today. Then they tried to get my husband’s name and our address as well. I ended up hanging up halfway through! It didn’t feel outright dangerous or like harassment, just quite unsettling. The number looked legit enough that you kinda want to answer it, thinking it might be someone you actually know.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the phone company, trying to stop annoying calls. Couldn't really get what they were saying because of their accent, so I told them I wasn't interested and ended the call. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Had calls twice just today from someone looking for a person who, as far as I know, has never lived at this number. Told them it’s a business number now and that person’s not connected at all. When I asked them to take my number off their list, they just ended the call straight away.

Over the last three days, I've had three separate calls from different numbers all starting with 01487. What's weird is that these only began once I switched back to BT. This one number rings me up roughly every couple of hours. If I pick up and stay silent, the call just ends. But if I say anything like "Hello," it connects me to a call centre that sounds like it's somewhere in Asia. They say they're from the telephone preference service working for BT and immediately start pushing for my bank and card details. Let’s just say I didn’t hold back in telling them off. Got a call from someone saying they were from TPS, asking for my bank details. It was obviously a dodgy scam. The number can be tracked but still, seems like fraudsters never get caught or punished properly. How come they don't face charges for fraud and all the other stuff they do?

Somebody rang up pretending to be from TPS, wanted to check my dad's bank info. When I told him I've never got a call from TPS before, the bloke on the phone got really rude and started yelling. I ended the call, but they called again immediately. I've blocked the number now.
