Got a call around 5.30pm from someone who wouldn’t clearly say which company they were representing. They claimed it was about my phone line, and when I asked if they were from BT, they said no. I then questioned why they were calling me and when I gave permission for the contact, but they just ended the call. We’re registered on the TPS but it seems more calls like this are slipping through lately. Definitely feels like the TPS needs to tighten things up. I’ll be reporting this one. The caller’s name was unclear but sounded a bit like Swinson?

Got a call from an Asian guy trying to sell me a cheaper phone bill, but his prices weren’t as good as what I’ve already got. Still, he was quite polite about it.

A polite guy with an Asian accent said he was calling from Switch. He told me and other home customers that our line rental would be going down from £17.70 to £14.99 next month because I’m apparently paying too much and that’s what Openreach will start charging. He seemed aware I’m with TalkTalk but explained they pay Openreach for the line. He mentioned I’d also get cheaper broadband and calls, but when I said my broadband and calls are free, he just hung up.

Just after midday, I received a call from a lady with a distinctly Indian accent. She requested to speak to the person responsible for settling the electricity bills. When I inquired about the reason for her call, her response was rather muddled and revolved around switching my gas and electricity. Given that I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, this call shouldn’t have come through at all. I assured her it wasn’t necessary to concern herself with my situation and promptly ended the conversation.

Got a call from an Indian bloke asking for some Mr Craig (which I’m sure isn’t real). I said no one by that name lives here. Then he started pressing me for my name, but I just wouldn’t give it. Told him not to call again. Of course, he called back, repeating the same questions. I told him no cold calls and that no Mr Craig is at my number. It’s my phone, my number, I’m not sharing my name with some random. Told him to sod off and that I’d be reporting the number to block any more harassment.

Around half-past two on the 28th of September, 2016, I received a rather intrusive phone call on my home landline. The individual on the other end failed to introduce himself and proceeded to pitch some gas and electricity services. I can't help but wonder if it was a dodgy scheme? Nevertheless, it was certainly an annoying interruption.
