Today they left a voicemail saying it was from the bank about some dodgy activity on my card and asked me to verify the charges or get in touch with customer services. Didn’t say which bank or which card it was about though. No details on who they’re talking to?? Sounds fishy to me. Blocked them straight away!

I'm a bit puzzled about the identity of this caller, but given what others have mentioned, it seems like it could very well be EE. I received this call on my landline, which is a rarity, especially since I hardly ever get any incoming calls. Interestingly, I had been browsing for broadband options using that same landline number just the day before. It leads me to think they're likely trying to follow up with a sales pitch. Honestly, if their broadband deals were half decent, they wouldn’t have to resort to these silly tactics! How typical, isn’t it?

I’ve had a right nuisance with that dodgy number, 01482 456273 - looks like either a scam or just another pesky cold caller. To sort it out, I had to dial the proper EE number. If I require assistance in the future, I’ll make sure to ring their customer service straight away, either on 150 from my phone or 0800 956 6000 for a free call. Isn’t it high time EE sorted this mess out? If they’re involved, how on earth do they know what I’m up to online? I pay a hefty sum of £80 a month for my phone, and I’ve made it crystal clear that I won't engage with these nuisance calls. Every single time EE reaches out, it’s always on my mobile - they don’t even have my landline! It all seems rather dodgy, if you ask me. My missus picked up this ring and some guy was asking about our internet. He said he was from EE and she asked me if there was anything wrong with our connection. I said no and she just ended the call. I’ve now blocked that number on our BT blacklist since I use BT Call Protect, which works really well, I’d definitely suggest it. Funny thing is, didn’t know EE is actually owned by BT! Crazy world we live in!

The very next day, I got two more calls claiming to be from EE checking in with “How was I?” On the first call, I just hung up, and on the second, I made it clear I wasn’t up for any cold calls and disconnected again. 30/11/20 This caller seemed to know a lot about me and was trying to get me to 'upgrade my internet at no cost'. They asked for more personal details, which made me suspicious. I replied, if it’s free, why do you need extra info? Just send me an email instead. They sounded a bit flustered and I just ended the call. With all the phishing emails and spam calls I get these days, I’m well within my rights to be careful!

Got a call from some scammer, probably from Nigeria or maybe just Hull, bloke couldn’t even string a proper sentence together. He sounded well dodgy, so I just left him waiting while I sorted myself a sandwich and made a cuppa. He kept thinking I was after my credit card or something, kept checking twice while I was gone. Got a recorded call from someone using an American accent saying my Sky broadband would be cut off in 24 hours because of suspicious activity. They told me to press 1 to speak to Sky customer support. Seemed dodgy to me, particularly as I don’t even have Sky broadband anymore. Then, just two hours later, I got the same message from another number, which turned out to be registered in Turkey!

They keep ringing me non stop even tho I told them I’m still tied into a contract and just compared speeds. Proper annoying.

Got a call from a number I didnt recognise, but since Im switching from BT to EE at the moment and seeing what others have said, Im just gonna keep ignoring it. EE really needs to sort out their security if this number keeps ringing people after they switch over.

This number has been constantly calling me ever since I visited Money Saving Expert to compare broadband offers. They asked for my phone and email to do a speed test but never said anything about calling me back or cold calling. I’m not picking up anymore and looked it up on 1471, which shows EE. But other folks say they contacted EE and were told EE didn’t call them. Be careful, this could either be EE or some dodgy scammers.

Got a call from 01482 456273 claiming to be from EE, they even used my name. Asked me to confirm some security info to talk about my account. I ended the call and rang EE directly, they told me there wasn't any planned call and it sounded like a scam.

I just switched my home phone and internet over to EE, and this number has called me twice within the past couple days. I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, so it went straight to voicemail and the caller hung up right away. Seeing what others have said, I’ll keep ignoring it - EE are sending me emails anyway, so I don’t really need to chat with them on the phone (if it’s even them).

Popped into an EE store yesterday to switch my broadband deal. They checked my email and phone number they had saved for me. I got plenty of emails from them confirming the change. But then some random number rings me up asking if I wanna upgrade my broadband. I’m confused - shouldn’t the shop’s update stop these calls? Or is this some dodgy 3rd party pretending to be EE, just trying to get a sale on commission? Anyone got a clue?

I recently put my landline number into a broadband comparison tool on Money Saving Expert to see different supplier options, not expecting to get calls from them. There was no clear info about my number being shared for cold calls, so I ended up blocking it.

I've had a few calls from this number over several days. It either cuts off when going to voicemail or no message is left. The area code looks like it's from Hull but can't be certain. Best to just give it a miss.

They ring every day using numbers that change just enough to avoid blocking. I don’t pick up on unknown calls anymore. If it’s really urgent, they’ll leave a message that I can actually identify. Honestly, the government needs to step in and put an end to these annoying and sometimes harmful calls.

I phoned EE using their genuine customer support number and they had no idea about this number whatsoever. I'd recommend ignoring it as they usually book appointments or leave a voicemail if it really matters (and definitely avoid sharing any personal or security details).

Sounds like this is EE. I'm with them and they rang me but I didn't leave a message. When I called back, the message said they'd get in touch again and there was nothing I had to do. So I'd say it's a legit number.

Could be someone from ee as the caller mentioned my landline being with them. They were offering an upgrade for faster broadband but I was alright with my current plan. The person calling was polite enough and didn’t keep pushing after I told them no thanks.

For weeks now, this number keeps ringing my home phone loads of times every day. I haven't picked up once and no voicemail has been left either. I'm with EE on my mobile and they've already got my number, so if it was them, why wouldn't they leave a message? Seems a bit dodgy if you ask me.
