I picked up and just stayed quiet. They started with “hello” and mentioned my name, then warned if I didn’t talk they’d have to end the call. Found it a bit odd, so I just ended it on my side.

I got a call from someone asking for Mr Grote, but I told them they’d got the wrong number. I've blocked the number now.

Somebody called claiming to be from British Gas, but when I mentioned I don't have gas supply, a woman with an Indian accent said "you've got electricity tho," and started talking about new government stuff. I told her I was busy with work and couldn't chat. The whole thing felt pretty dodgy to me.

Weird scam call, with heavy breathing and an AI sounding person. They were talking about the Gas Board but that hasn’t existed for yonks. Totally clueless these days.

I didn’t answer since the number was unfamiliar. After about 7 or 8 rings, they just hung up. I looked them up on Who Called Me and blocked the number straight away. Cheers!

I waited before picking up since the caller ID said it might be a spam call. The phone stopped ringing after a bit, so I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call from someone claiming to be British Gas, asking for a James Kelly. The person spoke with a South African accent. I asked how they found my number and they said it was from some energy records or something, just a load of rubbish really.

Got a dodgy call, said it was a work number and then blocked 'em, yet the number still shows up in my call history.

I got a call from this number earlier saying they were DX Courier and wanted to set up a pickup for a wireless gadget that was supposedly sent to me by Roller Shutters Components. The weird thing is, I haven’t ordered anything recently or expecting any deliveries at all. Felt a bit fishy to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from British Gas. They asked for my details and kept pushing for me to switch over by offering a cheap tariff. Told them I'd ring back, but nothing yet.

Got a call from someone saying they were British Gas trying to get me to switch over. I already use British Gas, so when they asked who my current provider was, I replied 'you tell me'. As soon as I said that, they just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from British Gas, offering to reduce my energy costs. I was pretty sure it was dodgy, especially since they had no clue who my current provider was. They kept saying I was still with an old supplier I left about half a year ago. Needless to say, I’ve blocked them now.
