If they’re Vodafone sales folks, I have no clue why they persist with calling their own customers, especially when they can tell we don’t pick up! I picked up, but they just ended the call straight away. Looked up the number on ‘who called me’ and it’s some garage in Hull. Going to put them on my block list. Definitely a scam. They said they were from Vodafone but it was pretty clear they weren’t. When I asked what the call was about, they refused to say unless I confirmed I was the named account holder - totally a sneaky way to get my info and con me. I ended the call straight away. FRAUD ALERT - I received a call from this number and the person on the other end was quite abrasive when I requested verification of their affiliation with Vodafone. They seemed to be demanding personal information under the guise of data protection, yet couldn’t even confirm my first name to establish credibility. Didn’t ask for loads of info or try hard-sellin me anything, just said I could upgrade to their latest home WiFi at a cheaper rate since I’m an existing customer. Got a call from someone claiming to be Vodafone asking to speak to the bill payer. I told them that wasn’t me and they asked for a number to get hold of him. I said if they were genuine Vodafone, they’d already have his number since it’s the main one on the account.
