Got a call from someone claiming to be tech support, sounded like they were from somewhere in Asia. They kept telling me my computer had issues like viruses, it was slow, or throwing errors. Seems like they’re just fishing for anyone who might actually be having tech problems to trick them. Honestly, it’s really dumb to trust a random caller and let them get into your computer. Couldn’t be more obvious it’s a scam.

They never mentioned which company they were with, just said they were calling to help me save money because folks in my "area" were getting overcharged for gas and electric. When I asked where exactly my "area" was, there was an awkward pause and she said, ummm. So I just ended the call. Clearly had no clue what they were on about.

They keep ringing me but i never pick up numbers i dont recognise. No voicemail left either so i just ignore them every time.

They ring me nearly every day, sometimes even three times a day. As soon as I pick up, they just hang up, which is a bit annoying cos I wanted to ask them a few things to mess with them. I blocked the number but now they’re calling from a number that’s almost the same, just one digit different.

I received a notification on my laptop claiming that my system was compromised by a virus and urging me to ring a certain number for help. Total scammers at work here!

This is pure panic-mongering and really risky. My 17 year old lad got this pop-up on his laptop and he was well scared. He actually got tricked into it until they tried charging him $200. That’s when I found out. Honestly, if I could’ve jumped down the phone line, I would’ve. Proper lowlifes that need to be stopped hard. On the plus side, he’s definitely gonna be much more careful now. Just a heads up: I noticed they were using ‘Citrix’ VPN software to get into his PC. If you end up this far, you might want to check and remove any new programs like that.

These folks are total scum causing trouble and spreading fear, pretending to be trustworthy businesses. Even legit antivirus firms can't keep up with their tricks. Just turn your computer off and on again, there's no virus, it's all just rubbish!

this is a bogus tech support call, the number looks uk but these fraudsters mostly operate out of india. they say your computer is infected and ask for a one off payment to "repair" it, but its all nonsense. as someone who likes to waste their time on the phone, ive had a laugh playing along and confusing them. dont give these people any cash, its a scam for sure.

Got a pop-up online saying I had a virus and to ring this number. Said it was from Microsoft but it just felt dodgy.
