Got a call from a number saying it was from Glamorgan. They asked about my weekend, which caught me off guard since I was actually just heading back from a short trip. Then they brought up Car Phone Warehouse, which was weird given I’d literally just been away. I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming they were from O2 saying my contract ended and I should upgrade. I told them I’m not even with O2. Then this Asian woman said she was calling for Carphone Warehouse and insisted I needed an upgrade, asking for my info. I told her nicely I wasn’t interested but she got a bit pushy, threatening my line would be disconnected at midnight if I didn’t upgrade. I just ended the call straight away.

I'd really suggest setting up BT Call Protect if you haven't already. Just save it to your favourites and you can block unwanted numbers in no time, like within a minute or so. It definitely helps - I still get some annoying calls but way less than before. I've managed to block 51 so far! It's a pity we even have to deal with this stuff, but fingers crossed BT will use the info from Call Protect to stop these calls at the source.

They seriously try to figure out why the card details don’t work, thinking they’ve got someone easy to fool.

For over a month now, this number has been constantly ringing my 88 year old grandma, usually around her tea, sometimes even thrice in one day. Just got a call from this number earlier - when I answered with a “hello” there was a bit of silence, then a man with an accent said he was ringing about the telephone preference service, asking if I was still interested in using it. He mentioned my name and address, claiming that from the next day onwards I’d stop receiving any nuisance calls. Since I get loads of those anyway, I wasn’t sure if this was some sort of scam, so I told him I wasn’t convinced and ended the call straight away.

On 27th June I got called three times. Every time, I told whoever it was to buzz off. I even warned them I'd go to the cops if they didn’t quit calling.

Just got a call like that a couple of minutes ago. The person already had my name and address and then asked for the expiry date on my visa debit card! I told them I wasn't sure this was legit and asked for their company's name and a phone number to call back on. They replied with a short number "0203 00." and then hung up straight away. When I checked the number using 1471, it actually showed up as 01446 something. Suspicious to say the least!
