I checked with E.ON, they only use 0808 or 0345 numbers, and they confirmed that the 01443 code isn’t theirs - it’s scammers trying to trick you. What’s sneaky is they might ring you right after you’ve contacted E.ON or their smart meter installer, FirstSource, especially if you’ve asked for a callback from either company. The dodgy 01443 number could then call you back, pretending to be E.ON or FirstSource, but it’s not genuine. I took one of these calls and just got silence down the line. She got all flustered and stammered, “Err, no mama, I’m from O2.” I looked up Khadim Supersave and it’s a shop in Huddersfield, same contact number. Strange situation!

Got a call from this number the other day. The person said they were from EON Next and wanted to check on my smart meter setup. They started asking for personal info to “verify” my identity, but as they rang me out of the blue, I wasn’t having any of it. Seemed dodgy straight away. So, I phoned EON myself and they told me it was a scam - they hadn’t tried to contact me at all and someone was just fishing for my details. Definitely a phishing attempt.

We've scheduled a smart meter installation with E-on for June, but this number, 01443 544989, keeps calling and messaging us about a cancellation and urging us to ring back to reschedule. To be honest, we've been ignoring these calls as it’s a bit of a bother, yet they keep reaching out nearly every day.

My phone got calls from this number twice today. I didn’t know who it was, so I looked it up and found lots of bad reviews here. I’ve got a smart meter being installed this week and checked the email from Eon, which didn’t say anything about getting a call before they turn up. Honestly, I’m not sure if I’m more annoyed at Eon for passing on my phone number or at these scam callers trying to ring me.

I picked up and shared some info, but then I started thinking the number seemed a bit dodgy. I rang Eon directly after and they assured me the call was legit. Just so you know, they never asked for my bank details, only where my meters are, my address, my name, and how I pay (mine’s by direct debit). From what I can tell, it’s all above board.

I've had this number ring me a couple of times this week. The most recent call was just today, on the 13th of April, 2024. When I inquired about the reason behind the call, they swiftly disconnected! Oddly enough, after they hung up, a pre-recorded message came through saying, “We’re currently closed. Cheers for ringing.” How bizarre, considering we hadn’t actually made a call!

I’ve received calls from 01443544989 two times this week, the latest being today, 13/4/24. When I queried the purpose of their call, they abruptly ended the conversation. Quite bizarrely, right after they hung up, a recorded message played saying, "We are currently closed. Thank you for your call." Odd, isn’t it? We didn't initiate the call!

I've been getting persistent nuisance calls from this number, which raised my suspicions. A quick Google search revealed it's linked to numerous scam attempts. Normally, I tend to shun any unfamiliar numbers, but this time I succumbed and listened to their voicemail. To my annoyance, it was just a load of incoherent mumbling. Do yourself a favour and avoid answering if this number rings - perhaps they'll eventually get the hint that it's no use!

I received a call purporting to be from E.ON yesterday morning, and wouldn't you know it, they called again today at the very same hour, inquiring whether I have a meter. How peculiar! Anyway, I couldn't help but block the number and reached out to E.ON directly, only to find out that it wasn’t them at all. Quite the mystery, isn’t it?

Got a call from this number and after looking it up, found out it’s just some spammer having a laugh with folks. It’s awful how they prey on people, thinking they can do whatever they like to those who might be more trusting. They say whatever to you and just walk away like it’s no big deal.
