I got a call from some folks saying they're with HMRC. When I tried to get them to verify anything like my tax reference or National Insurance number, they said they couldn’t provide any details. The number was showing up with the 01438 code, which is Stevenage. But when I asked where they were calling from, they claimed it was 100 Parliament Street, London. So, how come a Stevenage area code was being used? I ended up reporting this number to HMRC, and they told me they don’t reach out to people by phone, email, or messages at all. Seems dodgy to me.
