I got a call from this number claiming I’d won 10 free lottery entries. The guy on the other end, a young chap, was pretty polite but maybe a bit too chirpy, especially when he asked if I was still at my current address. He even knew my name and postcode, which threw me off a bit. I told him I don’t gamble or bother with lotteries, and he quickly ended the call after that.

01423 646821 - from what I found, this number seems to belong to JudgeService Research Limited in Harrogate. They apparently call to do surveys on car dealership service. Bit odd though, since I purchased my car ages ago, about three years back! Gave up and blocked them as I found it quite annoying!

This was the second time this number called me, so I picked up. The bloke, Ryan, said he wanted to send me ten free lottery scratch cards. Got a call from a young bloke with a Harrogate twang asking if I was Mrs so-and-so. I said yes, and then he rattled off my entire address, including the postcode. He told me I’d been picked for some lottery tickets and they’d send them through the post. I told him I don’t really bother with the lottery, but he just said no worries, they’d send the tickets anyway. I asked who exactly he was, and he said he was with ‘your lotto’. I told him I had no idea what he was on about, then he just hung up on me!

Got a call from 01423882089, which looks like it’s from Harrogate. I ignored it and let it go to voicemail, but there was nothing left. Tried calling back with my number hidden, but as soon as I dialled, the line cut off straight away. They claim there’s some suspicious activity on your credit card, but it’s a known con dating back to the 90s. Don’t press any buttons if you get a call like this - it can put you at risk. If you can, block the number because they often ring from loads of different ones.

01423881413 BANK SCAM Got a call from someone saying they were Visa bank claiming I’d been charged £120 for a train ticket. Funny enough, it’s an actual train line I travel on. When I asked what card it was on, they just gave me some nonsense about which card and threw in some rude comments. Honestly, I don’t see how anyone falls for it with how unprofessional and rude they were. Proper annoying and upsetting experience.

It's a lady again on the line. This is the second occasion they’ve phoned me claiming two sums have been withdrawn from my card, but they never mention which card!! The amounts change each time, but the script is the same: press 1 to confirm, press 2 for help. Total scammers, no doubt. What baffles me is how they got hold of my landline, which I barely ever pick up? These must be hackers for sure, but I bet it took them quite some time to get this info.

Something odd happened yesterday though - a bloke rang from a mobile saying I’d called him and asked who I was and why I’d rung, which I hadn’t done! He tried to fish some details out of me too. I can’t help but think it might be connected. So, I received a call about a TV contest I joined ages back, saying I’d made it to the final round. It sounded pretty convincing since the caller had my details and even remembered the answer I gave. Got a call from 01423 796100 showing as Harrogate on my phone. The bloke said he was from Sainsburys Fraud team but spoke so quickly I had to ask him to repeat himself (he had an Asian accent). He tried to run me through some 'security checks' before telling me about any fraud. I pushed back and asked questions which seemed to throw him off, then he told me to ring the number on my credit card instead - which I never did. It was just a recorded message though, nothing like the real fraud alerts I've had before. Luckily, most banks now use one-time codes on my phone, so I didn’t worry too much.

01423 752523 Since this number has a Harrogate area code, which is where I'm based, I was suspicious when they left a voicemail mumbling about a £300 unauthorised payment and a £1100 overseas money transfer. I tried calling back using my phone’s keypad but left out the area code. After about 10 rings with no reply, I hung up. Saw someone else on here mention the same £300 unauthorised transaction and £1100 international money order thing - definitely sounds like a dodgy scam.

Got a call from 01423 524339 at my home earlier today. I rung back and an old lady answered, seemed like she knew nothing about the call. I reckon this number might be linked to some sort of scam.

Got a nice sounding but cut off robotic message from 01423 565388 claiming something about "£300 from Amazon and the other is £1100 from Western Union. Press 1 to report..." Seems like those scammers want you to freak out and hit 1 so they can scam you.

They said they were from British Gas, but last time they called from a different number, one beginning with 033. It’s the same person each time. They keep asking to talk to the Manager about our renewal, even though we’ve already told them to stop calling us. It’s getting really annoying.

Got a call from 01423 585930 claiming to be Amazon Prime, saying there was an issue with my account and I’d get charged. They asked me to press 1 or 2 to talk to someone. Seemed dodgy to me.

Someone rang me saying they were gonna send me £3400 from a PPI claim. When I asked for more info and told them to send the details over email before I gave my personal stuff, they just hung up. I tried calling back but it said the number was wrong or didn’t exist.

01423 504189 rang me earlier, clearly reading from a script. I told them straight away I wasn’t interested, but they just ignored me and kept talking. Ended up hanging up and blocking the number. This was the second time I’ve had a call from that number or around there.
