I did end up paying a debt that AJJB Law claimed I had. They kept sending me texts over the last week, so I finally shot them an email asking for the exact figure they said I owed. Bloody annoying lot. If they buy any old debts of mine, especially ones over six years old, I’ll be telling them not to bother. After a certain time, you don’t owe anything, especially on interest.

Got a call from AJJB LAW about a small debt with some 'Buy Now, Pay Later' company called ZIP. They were quite pleasant to talk to. (Though their voicemail was a bit over the top, like trying to scare you or make you feel super guilty or something…) The folks on the phone were really friendly. I’m paying just £1 a month to sort it out, which you can also do online. They tried to take payment from my card but it bounced 'cause it was overdrawn, so that's why they rang. I explained and asked to set up a easier payment date, and everything was sorted in no time - maybe three minutes tops.

Watch out for calls from CRS or anyone using this number! I got a voicemail saying they'd been trying to reach me about some "important legal issue" and warned me not to ignore it. They left a number to call an agent. I've never had any previous contact from these folks, no letters or anything. Any real organisation would send a proper letter first, clearly stating who they want to speak to. This feels like a scare tactic to intimidate people. I'm planning to report this number to Action Fraud, hoping the police can do something about it.

When I picked up the phone, I got a recorded voice saying it was from the 'CRS Legal Department' so I just hung up. I decided to ring back and actually got through to someone claiming to be an 'advisor'. He said they were trying to reach a woman whose number they thought I had, he even spelled out the name but I had no idea who it was. I told him straight up, "This is a scam," and could hear him chuckle on the other end.

I’ve reported it to Halifax, and they replied saying they’re investigating. I don’t owe anyone a penny, it’s definitely a scam. Just checked this number 01422324529 and there’s a voice saying it’s from the legal department asking me to press 1. I hung up straight away. I’ve now set my landline to silent because I’m sick of these annoying calls. I hardly ever use the landline and according to the council’s do not contact list, my number should be blocked.
