This was from a survey organisation I signed up with called "Your say pays", so I didn’t mind taking part in their transport survey over the phone. The lady interviewing me was really polite and friendly, so I don't find this number suspicious at all. You can always skip any questions you don't want to answer, like earnings. I've done loads of phone surveys like this before, some rewarded, some not. Never had any issues, and having worked in social research around 20 years back, I understand the process quite well.

I got a call from a woman in a really loud call centre, she claimed to be from the 'Dept. of Trade and Industry' regarding the EU exit. As she talked, I checked the number and ended up reading the reviews here. Hung up straight away and blocked the number.

I've noticed that this number has been trying to get in touch with me during the evenings quite persistently. However, they always hang up as soon as my voicemail kicks in. Since I'm on the ex-directory list, it strikes me that anyone who can't state my name when prompted is probably just a cold-calling salesperson or, more likely, someone up to no good. The last time I picked up, hoping for a bit of entertainment, the caller claimed to be from a survey company. I asked for their official staff ID just to see how they'd react, and wouldn’t you know it? They promptly hung up!

Somebody said they were a manager from Halifax bank. They gave me incorrect details and promised to send a letter to prove their identity and call me back after. The letter came on cheap plain paper with no letterhead or proper Halifax envelope and the English was really poor. I’m going to sort it out at my local branch now. Just waiting for their call again.

Got a call supposedly from MBNA asking if I wanted to do a quick survey. I declined politely. My marketing settings with MBNA explicitly say no calls allowed. So I rang their official customer service to check. They told me they hadn’t called me today and they wouldn’t call for marketing at all because of my preferences.
