Got a random call from a number I didn’t recognise. I answered then left the phone without saying a word. A woman with an accent that definitely wasn’t British asked for me by name, and when I stayed quiet she kept saying “hello?” about eight times. After 44 seconds she finally realised I wasn’t going to respond and hung up. The weird part was the number showed as a UK one in international format (starting with 044, the UK’s international code), which told me the call was actually coming from abroad.

got another one of these annoying calls today. tried ringing back but the number just didn’t show up anywhere. it really frustrates me that enough people fall for these scummy scams for them to keep going. how do they manage to have so many fake numbers? one day it’s a birmingham area code, then random ones, and now it looked like alton. i keep reporting them and wasting their time whenever i get the chance by playing along.
