someone rang me saying they were from auto assist about an accident supposedly involving me. they actually knew my first name. i told them i don’t drive and asked them to delete my info. to my surprise, she kept going and then mentioned that i was a passenger at the time of the crash. honestly, i wasn’t impressed at all.

At first, the person on the phone said he was with some sort of "regulatory body" linked to 'UKIG' - which, as far as I can tell, isn’t even real. When I questioned him about it, he switched up his story, calling it a "regulated body" instead. Definitely a scam, since he kept changing what he said about who he supposedly works for.

Typical nonsense, they tried to make out I’d been in a car accident, which of course isn’t true. I asked, “How do you know I’ve had a crash?” and then the guy started calling me “mate.” I said, “Mate?” and he said, “Yeah, mate. I’m not removing your number unless you start behaving properly.” Let’s see who’s mature when I file a Subject Access Request and report you for breaching section 6 of the GDPR, since you’ve got my details without my consent and are using them unlawfully.
