Some bloke saying his name was Ross said he was calling about some upgrade on my insurance. But when I asked which company he was with, he just dodged the question and switched the subject. Then he started asking for my bank info, which was a dead giveaway that it was a scam.

So, I got a call from someone saying they wanted to review my life insurance policy. I asked her what company it was through and she got that right. But when I questioned her about who the policy actually covered, she messed that up completely! I told her I wasn’t interested and hung up straight away. Then I phoned my life insurance provider, and they confirmed it wasn’t them at all.

Got one of those classic car accident scams today. They kept asking when and where the crash happened but I just wouldn’t give them the details. I let them chat away for a while until I got fed up. Then I told them I can’t actually drive. They were like, “Well you should’ve said that from the beginning,” and said I’d wasted their time 😂😂😂. Typical!

Like loads of people have said before, this caller was about a road accident that wasn’t my fault. I asked him if his mum knew what he’s been doing, and he just ended the call straight away!

I received a call from this number on my mobile, but they didn't bother to leave any message. I tried reaching back by calling with my number hidden, but instead of ringing, it simply stated that my call was blocked. It's becoming a frequent nuisance; I'm getting daily calls on both my mobile and home phone, and every time I choose not to answer, there's no voicemail left behind. I've taken the step to inform the Telephone Preference Service and the Police, as there seems to be a surge in scam calls attempting to fish for personal details. I urge everyone to be cautious and vigilant. If you receive a call from an unknown number, think twice before answering. If it’s a genuine caller, they’ll leave a message for you to respond to. Stay alert and protect yourself... don’t hesitate to report these deceitful scammers through the proper channels. By banding together, we can put a stop to these opportunistic fraudsters.

These lot keep ringing me, so I always ask for their full address and postcode but warn them not to look it up online. Then I say I live nearby and will just drop round to pick up my cheque - they always hang up sharpish, it's hilarious!

They keep calling from different 0141769 numbers, but it’s always some dodgy insurance scam. Had enough, so I’ve put them on my block list!

Auto Assist sounded alright at first, quite civil even. But when I tried to find out more about the accident they claimed happened, the bloke quickly got a bit hostile, saying he couldn’t share anything unless he was sure who I was. After messing around with him for about 15 minutes, I finally admitted I didn’t have a driving licence, and then he just cut me off. I’ve blocked the number now so they don’t bother me again.

Like loads of others have mentioned, I got a call saying I’d crashed my car. I chuckled, told her it wasn’t true and that these calls are against the law, but she just kept on going! Gotta admit, she was persistent if nothing else. What a pest! Felt embarrassed and blocked the number straight away!

Got a call from this number, the woman claimed I was in a car crash that wasn’t my fault. I told her that can’t be true since I don’t even own a car. Decided to block the number after that.

Got a call from some company called Auto Legal, said they were from Glasgow on Bath Street or something. Told me they got my number from U.K. Insurance Group about some accident. I haven’t had any accident nor do I know anyone who has. Feels like a scam to me, so I’ve just blocked the number.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Auto Assist about a crash I supposedly had. Told them I don’t drive and haven’t been in any accidents. I blocked the number, but they keep changing the last three digits and still manage to call me. This is now the eighth time they've rung, and I’ve blocked every new one.

I reckon it’s a dodgy scheme-I've taken to ignoring calls from numbers I don't recognise, as I've been inundated with scam attempts. Honestly, it feels like the authorities, whether police or government, are doing very little to tackle this issue. Oddly enough, I've noticed a dip in these nuisance calls since the pandemic began, but still, it’s beyond irritating and a bit unnerving. What a cheeky lot these ambulance chasers are! Someone rang me claiming I had a mishap two years back. I promptly informed them that wasn’t feasible, seeing as I’ve been pushing up daisies for the past three years. I must’ve given them a proper fright, as they hung up in a jiffy!
