Some bloke saying his name was Ross said he was calling about some upgrade on my insurance. But when I asked which company he was with, he just dodged the question and switched the subject. Then he started asking for my bank info, which was a dead giveaway that it was a scam.

So, I got a call from someone saying they wanted to review my life insurance policy. I asked her what company it was through and she got that right. But when I questioned her about who the policy actually covered, she messed that up completely! I told her I wasn’t interested and hung up straight away. Then I phoned my life insurance provider, and they confirmed it wasn’t them at all.

Got one of those classic car accident scams today. They kept asking when and where the crash happened but I just wouldn’t give them the details. I let them chat away for a while until I got fed up. Then I told them I can’t actually drive. They were like, “Well you should’ve said that from the beginning,” and said I’d wasted their time 😂😂😂. Typical!

Like loads of people have said before, this caller was about a road accident that wasn’t my fault. I asked him if his mum knew what he’s been doing, and he just ended the call straight away!

I got a call from this number on my mobile, but they didn’t leave a voicemail. I tried calling back with my caller ID blocked, but it didn’t even ring - just said my call was refused. Lately, I’ve been getting loads of calls every day on both my mobile and home phone, and never once do they drop a message. I've reported these calls to the Police and the Telephone Preference Service because there’s clearly some dodgy phishing attempts happening. My advice is, be careful and vigilant… Don’t pick up calls from numbers you don’t recognise. If it’s something important, they’ll leave a message for you to get back to them. Stay alert and safe, and make sure you report any suspicious calls via the proper channels. Together, we can try to put a stop to these nasty scammers.

Got a call from some dodgy insurance company, probably a scam, so I’ve just put the number straight on block.

These lot keep ringing me, so I always ask for their full address and postcode but warn them not to look it up online. Then I say I live nearby and will just drop round to pick up my cheque - they always hang up sharpish, it's hilarious!

Got a call from Auto Assist saying I was in a crash, which I definitely wasn't. I told them this and then they asked if someone else in my home had an accident! Total scam. Stay clear.

They keep calling from different 0141769 numbers, but it’s always some dodgy insurance scam. Had enough, so I’ve put them on my block list!

Auto Assist sounded alright at first, quite civil even. But when I tried to find out more about the accident they claimed happened, the bloke quickly got a bit hostile, saying he couldn’t share anything unless he was sure who I was. After messing around with him for about 15 minutes, I finally admitted I didn’t have a driving licence, and then he just cut me off. I’ve blocked the number now so they don’t bother me again.

Like loads of others have mentioned, I got a call saying I’d crashed my car. I chuckled, told her it wasn’t true and that these calls are against the law, but she just kept on going! Gotta admit, she was persistent if nothing else. What a pest! Felt embarrassed and blocked the number straight away!

I got a missed call from this number and when I tried calling back, no one picked up. So, I just went ahead and blocked it. Years ago, in 2012, I had a no-fault RTC and was properly compensated, but it looks like my phone number’s been passed around a lot since then because these calls keep coming nonstop. Got a call from this number, the woman claimed I was in a car crash that wasn’t my fault. I told her that can’t be true since I don’t even own a car. Decided to block the number after that.

Got a call from some company called Auto Legal, said they were from Glasgow on Bath Street or something. Told me they got my number from U.K. Insurance Group about some accident. I haven’t had any accident nor do I know anyone who has. Feels like a scam to me, so I’ve just blocked the number.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Auto Assist about a crash I supposedly had. Told them I don’t drive and haven’t been in any accidents. I blocked the number, but they keep changing the last three digits and still manage to call me. This is now the eighth time they've rung, and I’ve blocked every new one.

Received a call from Form Auto Assist UK today. They asked about an accident I had and said I was due some quick cash compensation if I shared my address. Honestly, I think it's a scam. Best to just say thanks but no thanks and end the call. Hope everyone stays safe out there!

They said they were looking into a crash that supposedly happened within the past couple years. When I called them out on it, the person on the other end just chuckled and then told me to have a nice day before ending the call. Definitely felt like a phishing scam to me.

I reckon it’s a scam or summat, I’ve been hangin up on loads of calls from unknown numbers that I don’t recognise. There are way too many scam calls these days and it seems like neither the police nor the government bother doing much about it. I will say, since all this coronavirus stuff kicked off, I’ve actually been getting fewer scam calls, which is a bit of a relief. Still, it’s proper frustrating and a bit worrying when you’re not even comfortable picking up your phone anymore.
