Someone said they were from HMRC, I pressed 1, then got stuck in one of those 'your call is really important' loops. After a while a bloke answered and asked why I was ringing, and when I said he had rung me, he just went over the HMRC spiel again asking for my name and info. Definitely dodgy.

I've been getting annoying calls from a stranger who keeps calling me by various names. I told them they must have dialled the wrong number, but they insist they're right.

I’m really fed up with these calls lately. Sometimes the caller ID shows ‘unknown’ and other times it says ‘United States’. From what I’ve found looking online, it seems to be some kind of automatic reminder from the local school board.

He said his name was Steven and when I told him I’ve had like 10 calls from him in the last hour and that he needs to stop, he threatened to scam me if I didn’t listen. I just laughed it off and ended the call. He’s only trying to frighten me but honestly, he won’t do a thing.

Got a missed call from this number. Normally I ignore calls like this but every now and then I answer just in case its something important. It’s crazy how many people don’t have caller ID or still feel like they have to pick up every unknown call just to avoid missing out. It’s really sad people do this kind of stuff, trying to scam and steal info or money from others. I don’t understand how they sleep at night doing this.

Got a call from this number earlier. I figured it might be the hospital, so I picked up. No one said a word though, so I just hung up. Pretty sure it was some kind of spam, but it’s always a bit iffy when no one talks.

Some bloke rang sayin it was about my accident, I told him yes it was, then he just cut me off. The funny thing is I know my Jaggers a proper wreck, but I said only me and another mate were in the car. Claimed the posh Mercedes I hit caught fire and the two in there didn’t survive - I’m lucky just bruised up a bit. Honestly, him hanging up on me actually cheered me up a bit!

Received a rather unwelcome call from this number earlier today. The individual on the other end claimed they were contacting me about a car crash I supposedly had in 2018, promising a chance to claim some compensation, naturally for a price. When I expressed my disinterest, they persisted, becoming increasingly bothersome. In the end, I had no choice but to cut the line. I strongly suspect that this company is nothing but a scam.

Scam alert - some bloke named Alex with a British accent rang me up claiming to be from Claims Direct. He said it was about a car crash I supposedly had in 2018 (which never happened) and that they wanted to help me financially because of the COVID-19 situation. Even when I told him I knew it was dodgy and they were just trying to exploit folks, he didn't hang up and would’ve kept trying to con me if I hadn’t ended the call.

Claims Direct UK called me, they ended up putting my brother on who works as a claims handler for a big insurance firm. They got dodgy pretty quick and refused to tell us what their company is listed as on the SRA. Claimed they’re from Glasgow but shut the call down fast when my brother pressed for more info. Seems sketchy - definitely don’t give them your info.

Got a call from Claims Direct UK or maybe Direct Claims UK, not too sure. They actually had my name, which was a bit creepy. Then they said they had a claim about an accident I supposedly had recently. I asked why they were making stuff up like that and the guy got all offended, started swearing at me and then just cut me off. Totally rude!

These lot try to get your personal info and bank details. Never share any of your stuff! They asked for my name, dob and even who supplies my utilities. I was daft to give it all away. A few days later, scammers rang again pretending to be from my gas company, saying they had a better deal for me. It sounded so real because they knew loads about me! I was just about to pay a little over the phone, then suddenly I remembered my first call and said hold on!! That Indian bloke got proper angry! Be careful out there!

It’s awful how they keep bothering people especially with everything going on right now. Also got a call from 0141 739 2516 the other day, same lot.
