Most of the time they kick off by claiming they’re aware I’ve been part of a crash involving a vehicle under my name and that the Road Traffic Accident office has told them about it. I tend to ask them to explain how they got that info and what type of accident it was. Occasionally they share a little extra detail, but often they simply say they’ve been told by the RTA department.

Got a dodgy call about some accident claim. As soon as I answered yes to the automated voice, a man came on the line. He kept saying he was just verifying info, but I got suspicious. When I asked where he was calling from and mentioned a few places in India, he sounded proper annoyed. Then he said he was actually calling from Pakistan, which honestly made me chuckle a bit!

Got a call from a guy with an eastern accent saying something about an accident I supposedly had. I played along, using a friendly, flirty tone, saying we could chat but I had to let him know that since he dialled my premium number, every minute would cost him £5 plus VAT. He just ended the call straight away 😂
