Got a call from some dodgy bot pretending to be from HMRC, telling me to press 1 for more info. I just ended the call straight away. It’s clearly a con to get you to ring a premium number and rip you off. It’s awful how these crooks take advantage of people, especially with everything going on right now. I’ve signed up to the telephone preference service but that hasn’t stopped these scam calls from coming through.

Just got a call from someone asking if I’d been in a car crash, and the weird part is, he already knew my surname. How on earth are they getting hold of my details? I’ve blocked the number now.

Seems like they’re fishing for anyone who’s been in a crash to steal personal info for some dodgy scam. Honestly, why haven’t the cops or phone companies stepped in to stop this nonsense? I’ve put the number on block, and I reckon everyone else should do the same - don’t give these lot a single chance.

Like many others have mentioned here, I got a call from someone who said they were with Car Claims Direct or some similar name. The person had a strong South African accent and spoke in a really mumbled way. They kept saying something like "We're calling about the car crash you've had." I told them straight away to remove my number from their list and to never call again.

Today I received a phone call from a woman with an Indian accent talking about some accident I supposedly had. I told her, ‘But I don’t even drive, how can that be true?’ Then the call just cut off. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now!

For ages now, I've been getting calls from Glasgow numbers, usually starting with 732 or 769, about a car accident I've never been involved in during my 35+ years behind the wheel. It's ridiculous and these lot should seriously be fined or even closed for the amount of harassment they're causing.
