Got a call from someone saying it was about a new government plan to help clear debts. They couldn’t answer simple questions and wouldn’t say why they were ringing me out of the blue, so I just ended the call. They’d also tried calling me yesterday from a Leeds number. Honestly felt like a dodgy call centre operating abroad. Watch out!

i received a call on my landline that was obviously a scam, didn’t even wait for the message to end. like many others here, my home phone isn’t connected to any of my accounts, so no matter how convincing the message might have been, I’d have just cut it off straight away!

Total scam alert. Some bloke rang me claiming there was a refund on my car finance after some “investigation”. When I asked where he got my number from, he was clueless. Mentioned GDPR and data protection, and he just stared blank like he had no idea what I was talking about. As soon as I pressed him with more questions, he just cut me off. I then called the company he said he was from, and they straight up said it wasn’t them ringing. Avoid this one!
