Lately, every time I answer a call, it's someone with an Indian accent on the line. Honestly, I’m not falling for any tricks. I know what’s going on.

How on earth did they obtain my phone number?

Keeps calling but never leaves a voicemail. Any proper company would at least leave a brief message as a courtesy. When you pick up these calls, don’t ever give away your name, address, or who your phone provider is. They’re collecting little bits of info to try scamming you again down the line. There’s no way the same number could be EE, O2, Vodafone, or any of the others - it’s just scammers guessing which network you use. Sometimes they get it right, especially if you’ve told them before.

Phone kept ringing for a good while while I was trying to find it. When I finally picked up, Tesco/O2 had already marked it as "Potential Spam". So I just ignored it, didn’t pick up.

I got a call from someone saying they were from EE, offering me either a 40% off deal or a phone upgrade. The guy was really insistent, wanting me to pick straight away. I asked if he could email me the details first, but he said he’d only send it after I chose and kept pushing me to decide. When I said I’d like the info first, he just suddenly ended the call. Feels like a dodgy scam to me.

Got a call on my phone on 01/09 at 10:34. It was a man speaking with a strong Asian accent and you could hear a busy call centre in the background. He said he was calling from EE. I’ve been an EE customer for a long time, so I was interested at first. He mentioned some kind of special offer to upgrade my phone. When I asked him for my own details like my name, address, and contract number, he wouldn’t give me any information, saying it was due to data protection. Felt like a dodgy call trying to fish for personal info.

My phone flagged it as a scam call from a telemarketer... It was an Asian woman claiming to be from O2, saying she could cut my bill by 40%. For starters, her accent was hard to follow and the call didn’t sound like it was even from the UK. I just told her no thanks and hung up. After checking this site, I’m glad I did. Those scoundrels got the right network, but there’s no way O2 or Virgin would offer that kinda discount! Marking it as a risk because it could easily catch out someone not paying attention.

Got a call from a noisy call centre, loud background and a strong South Asian accent. At first they claimed to be from O2, then switched to saying it was GiffGaff. When I asked them to remove my number, they flat out refused and kept trying to convince me it wasn’t a cold call. Proper annoying.
