I got a call from this number not long ago. It's the second instance I've encountered where D&G has seemingly been linked to a dodgy call in the past few weeks. The first time, it was a different fraudulent number altogether. I would strongly advise treating the message dated 2 Nov 2022 with suspicion, as I believe it's from a scammer. Do a quick search for D&G online and ring the number provided on their official website to determine if they really attempted to reach you using this fraudulent number (0141 447 0654). Hello there! I received a rather talkative call today around 11 in the morning. The chap on the other end had a lovely Glasgow accent and claimed to be from Domestic and General. 01414470654 - another dodgy call - Domestic & General - they actually knew the exact appliance I’d just got insured with them, then tried to sweet talk me with a discount on other stuff. Nearly fell for it and shared my bank details but thankfully I wasn’t interested in extra cover and as soon as I said that, they hung up. I received an authentic call from Domestic and General. The chap on the line was aware that I had my washing machine insured with them and was keen to offer coverage for additional items, which I went ahead and did for my fridge freezer. He didn’t request any personal information that they aren’t already privy to. Following the conversation, I reached out to D&G regarding a repair for my washing machine, and they confirmed the recent addition of my fridge freezer, so it was indeed a legitimate call and not a scam in any way.

I received a rather dubious call the other day from a chap claiming to represent my service provider, suggesting I modify my account under the pretence they were about to reduce the price we initially agreed upon. Quite the cheek, if you ask me! During our chat, he went on to inquire about my household possessions, probing if I had recently acquired anything worth mentioning. He insisted he was reaching out to reward my long-standing loyalty with some sort of special offer. However, considering I’ve only been a customer for a few months, I quickly started to suspect something wasn’t right. When I pressed him for the date I signed up and requested my reference number, his demeanour took a turn for the worse, and he became rather abrupt! I decided to remain calm and let him ramble until he brazenly asked for my bank details. DO NOT FALL FOR IT; IT'S A SCAM! ALWAYS DOUBLE-CHECK WITH THE MAIN OFFICE BEFORE PROVIDING ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE!

Their excuse was data protection. I then asked if they meant protecting my data or theirs. I got a call from someone claiming to be with D&G Insurance. They asked about stuff I supposedly already had insured. They guessed one correctly, but they missed two others - stuff I never told them about, which if they really were D&G, they’d of known. The bloke speaking had a clear Scottish accent and said he was doing his work from home. He even offered a discount if I added more electrical items.
