First time I think it was some bloke from India claiming to be Microsoft - sounded like a scam to me. Today it was a lady chatting about some sort of energy power deal, so I just put the phone down.

Got a call from some company checking if my number is active just to sell it to spam callers later. They hang up straight away most times! Best to not pick up, or else they’ll probably add you to their spam list.

Had some cheeky bloke trying to get me to book a chat about an ‘energy optimiser’ for solar panels. Claimed it was from the ‘energy review commission’, which I reckon is made up. They tried to pass me onto someone else and gave me a number to cancel - 0113 323 5811 - which has loads of rubbish reviews about silent ringing and all that. These lot really ought to get proper fines to stop all this cold calling rubbish.

guy with a manchester accent called and was polite, asking if we wanted to upgrade our existing solar panel system and if we were open to a visit from one of their reps. i was mostly shocked he knew our name, phone number, and that we even have solar panels - feels like someone’s sharing our info! declined the offer, said thanks and ended the call - then blocked the number. he wasn’t pushy or rude, just don’t appreciate surprise sales calls.

He seemed to know way too much about my house and me, which was pretty unsettling! He wanted to set up some appointment to “offer” more info or whatever and said he was with the energy review commission. When I told him I wasn’t interested and asked him to remove my number from their list, he actually argued with me. I ended the call but I really wish there was a way to block these companies. Cold calls should honestly be illegal. Rant done.
