Got a call from a bloke with a Scottish accent saying he was from Shell Energy. He started asking weird stuff about my account, stuff they should already have info on if it was real. When I asked him a question, he couldn't give me a straight answer. He was all over the place. Then he asks how long I’d stick with Shell if I chose them?? That’s like asking what colour the sky is at night - makes no sense. No idea what they were trying to do, but it’s clear they weren’t legit. Don’t pick up and just block.

This just happened to me as well. They were talking about a car accident, something about car insurance and all that. When I asked where they got my number from, the woman said it was from a customer’s car insurance claim. I can’t imagine my insurance company shared my number though. If this is some sorta scam, why isn’t anything being done about these numbers? Also, why am I being charged for these calls? It’s really annoying.

My phone buzzed and a notification popped up on my (free) t####er App saying ‘318 Spam Reports’ and told me not to pick up, so I didn’t. Later, I checked the number out of interest (my son had a crash a few months ago and the number was from Glasgow local). Now I’ve blocked it. Cheers t####er. Dunno how its fair that we get charged just for answering a call!

Got a missed call on my phone this afternoon. When I returned the call, a bloke picked up and said I must've rung by mistake, it was meant for someone else in his team. He mentioned they were checking in to see if I got the proper care after a car accident. Thing is, I haven't been in any crashes, so I told him that. He said he'd make a note of it on their end. Not sure if I believe that though - feels like they're just trying to get info out of me. We'll wait and see what happens next!

I just had another ring from a different number this time from Edinburgh asking about some accident I supposedly had - which I definitely didn’t. The latest call came from Glasgow. The guy was quite polite and kept at it, but I told him straight it was probably some sort of scam and that I'd probably end up on their angry list if I called back. It’s really a nuisance, how these firms manage to keep it up without getting stopped.

I was trying to find out how good the service was regarding my car insurance claim for an accident that wasnt my fault (again). I asked them to take me off their list but they said I had to answer some protocol questions before they could close the case. They even claimed they had no idea how they ended up with my phone number.

I got a call from a firm saying they got my info from ADMIRAL CAR INS. They claimed I’d been in a car crash within the last few years and wanted me to share details with them for some sort of legal case, probably to make money from compensation. This is just not on. I’ll be contacting the police and making sure ADMIRAL knows about this dodgy behaviour.
