Got a call from number 01413233532 around lunchtime. It was someone saying she was ‘Eleanor’ from Microsoft, telling me there was an issue with my laptop, phone, or computer. When I told her Microsoft doesn’t make calls like that, she sounded annoyed and I just hung up. Watch out for this one!

I received a call from this number, 01413###. When I answered, the person on the other end simply repeated "hello" without any further context, which was rather odd, so I hung up. To my surprise, they rang me again, but this time, they just hung up on me. Quite peculiar, if you ask me!

It appears that these individuals are making calls from Asia, much like my media supplier tends to do! They employ a rather crackly connection to feign authenticity. However, their lack of personalisation gives them away, as they never bother to ask for my name! In contrast, my media supplier always leads by addressing me directly. Upon answering, if you hold back from sharing your own name, they proceed to blurt out that your media has been compromised and will be disconnected in just an hour while they sort things out for five days! It’s quite entertaining, so I recommend staying on the line to indulge in a hearty laugh at their expense! Let them hear your amusement loud and clear! Eventually, just hang up and if the last number you see starts with 01413, take solace in the fact that you’ve had the last chuckle over these con artists! Absolutely marvellous!
