I called the church office, but they cut the line after a brief pause.

Our office phone keeps receiving calls, but there's nothing but silence on the line before it disconnects. Quite puzzling!

Received a call, but they didn't bother to leave a message on the answering machine. There were sounds of a call centre in the background. It definitely sounded a bit dodgy to me.
