I told the person on the phone I wasn’t a BT customer and thought it was a scam. Then they immediately switched to saying they were from Virgin Media and just abruptly ended the call.

Someone said they were from BT but I ended the call pretty quick, didn’t wait around for them to ask for my bank info.

Got a call on my home phone from a woman claiming to be with BT, which is unusual since that number barely gets calls. She told me they provide internet for Virgin, EE and others, and mentioned my internet has been unstable according to their reports, wanting to sort it out. I asked if it was a sales call, and she insisted it wasn’t. I said I was heading out and couldn’t chat, so she said she’d call back later. I didn’t mark the number as suspicious, considering what others have shared.

Someone said they were from BT and said my internet wasn’t secure. They asked for my credit card info to charge £2 to fix it but wouldn’t give me a number to ring them back. I didn’t give them anything.

Definitely a con - some bloke pretending to be from HMRC saying they were about to sue me or something like that.

Seems like the router box from BT is having some issues, like the data is piling up inside it or something, which is causing the net to drag and slow down. Anyone else had this sort of problem?
