Around 8:15 this morning I got a call from someone saying they were from BT about my internet. Their English wasn’t great at all and kept adding “ma’am” after everything. I told them I couldn’t really follow what they were saying because the accent made it hard to understand. I didn’t mention that I don’t actually have BT broadband. Later on, I got another ring with a very similar number, only a couple of digits changed. Do you think it was the same company, or just a scam?

got a call from this person pretending to be from BT, saying they’d fix my slow internet. they asked to access my laptop but when i mentioned i work in IT, they just ended the call. checked up and found out BT never make calls like that, so i reported both the number and what happened to BT.
