I just had an interview with this call centre called sitel. Call centres normally have your details because you’ve probably agreed to their terms without really looking, so it’s not really their fault for calling you. If they’re using a name that’s not yours, you might want to see who else might be using your number. Best way to stop the calls is to be polite and ask them to take your name and number off their list. Keep doing that with all the spam calls and eventually they’ll stop bothering you.

Turns out she’s a marketing rep for EMCAS, and apparently loads of people have been complaining about them to the telephone preference service for ages now. Look up the direct marketing authority for more info. There’s a real risk you could lose money here. Best advice is to handle any claims yourself and avoid dealing with these annoying, persistent pests.

Received a call today (15th February 2017), but I decided not to pick up since the number was unfamiliar. Just to clarify for anyone curious about how these firms acquire your digits, if you connect to WiFi in places like pubs or eateries where you need to sign in, they often collect your phone number and trade it. So far, I've had a dozen or so unidentified numbers ringing me consistently, and they all seem to be related to claims companies or pension fraudsters. Another PPI call again. Honestly, how many of these companies are still hanging about? I thought most people who've had PPI already got their money back, so why are these calls getting worse? It's really annoying cause they just won't stop pestering you, ringing multiple times daily and refusing to accept a simple no.

Heard a load of background noise that was like a call centre or summat. The person spoke in a kind of Asian accent and asked for a name I didn’t recognise at all.
