They didn’t say which company they were from. The person said I’d asked about a funeral plan, which I definitely hadn’t. Then they asked if I already had one! I told them I’m on the TPS list and asked them to remove my number from their database immediately.

This is Jo from the slosh pot massage place. They've kept calling me, saying I left something important behind and asking if I want to come pick it up. I’ve never even been there or known about it before these calls. They ring me at really odd hours, and just last night, it was in the early hours, though I can’t say the exact time since I lost my watch recently.

Total scam. They kept asking me loads about how I use my bank - like if it’s just for daily stuff or paying bills and all that. Then suddenly they switch it up and say I’ve got a claim against my own bank! Yeah, sure... what for exactly? Got a call from some woman trying to chat about compensation for endowment policies mis-sold years ago. I did have one way back when, and she said you can only make a complaint once. Things seemed alright until she mentioned their cut was 45%, VAT included, of whatever payout I might get. I just replied with a bit of sarcasm and then ended the call, blocked the number asap.

Lucky my daughter was with me when I got the call. She told me to put the phone on speaker so she could listen too. As I spoke, she quickly looked up the number online and found this site, saying it was a scam, so I ended the call straight away. I had no idea before that. Just double checking what others have mentioned before. They told me all calls are recorded for training and wanted me to verify my name, saying they couldn’t carry on without it, which made me a bit uneasy. So I gave my name. Then they claimed their files showed I had an endowment policy and asked if it was still active or paid out. When I said that was personal and none of their business, they quickly said sorry for disturbing me and hung up.

Really odd situation: my grown-up son rang me on my mobile, from his mobile, and right at the start of the call I kept hearing a weird three-tone beep every few seconds while we spoke. I ended up speaking to a manager who insisted the firm was FCA regulated. If that’s true, then they must be okay with outright fibbers who dont seem to care about lying and just keep coming back like they actually think what they’re saying is true. They’re so relentless, honestly the best way is to just block out their nonsense about “just doing their job” and be as blunt as you can - hopefully they’ll realise they need to find a real job that doesn’t involve badgering people who have clearly not asked to be called again. Got a call saying I’d won a holiday but they wanted my bank info and some “security” details. Things got dodgy when they started asking for my online banking passwords and PIN. Definitely be careful and don’t hand over anything to these scammers. When I told them I wasn’t falling for it, the bloke swore at me and just hung up.

I asked who they were and what it was about, but they said they couldn’t share any info because of data protection until I confirmed my identity. So I told them I couldn’t give my name for the same reason, then they just went “oh... alright” and hung up.

At first, the typical chatter of a call centre was on the line. When I answered, some muppet started asking for the person who’d owned my number ages ago - like over eight years back, and they’d left the company since. I told them straight up that I knew it was just a cold call and I wasn’t about to share anything. They insisted it wasn’t cold and kept saying the name again. I called them out on their rubbish and said they were nothing but a phone pest before ending the call.

This bloke called using the name of a company and threw my name into it, saying I might be able to make a claim on some endowment policy. I told him it’s got nothing to do with me and told him to stop calling. After that, I just went ahead and blocked the number.
