I proceeded to clarify that my job involved handling queries related to defective or pre-owned adult toys. I asked if they had an item that needed returning or was faulty. To my surprise, they abruptly disconnected the call! How incredibly discourteous!

Got two calls off this number not long ago. Luckily, my 'trueCall' picked them up and blocked them cause they didn’t make it past the filter. After seeing what others said on here about it, I put the number straight on my zap list so next time it won’t even ring through. I received a call from a somewhat dodgy-sounding woman named Hannah, who claimed my washing machine warranty had expired. She offered to extend it for just £49 for the year. After a chat, she passed me over to someone called Victor, and both were insistent on knowing my date of birth, which I promptly declined. They were quite keen on getting my bank details, but I wasn't having any of it. After a few moments of hesitation, I decided to hang up. To my surprise, they rang me back! I made sure to let them know exactly what I thought about their scammy behaviour.

01388 741 869 Just got a call from someone claiming to be from Domestic & General about renewing my washer dryer cover. Classic red flags right away - asked for my bank info over the phone, said the renewal was in December when it should be June, and the monthly fee they quoted was way less than what I usually pay. Normally prices go up, not down! Still, the call sounded really legit and professional, could easily trick someone if they weren’t paying close attention or expecting a different call. Seriously, watch out for these scams!!!

Someone rang our home number from 01388 741869, a lady saying she was from a company which sounded like Electric and General. Typical washing machine warranty con. The guy sounded Asian and stuck rigidly to his script, never properly answering what I asked. When I got a bit annoyed and started pushing him, he just hung up. I don’t have (and never had) any warranty on a washing machine - my current one was bought secondhand for £26 on eBay about two and a half years ago. Thought I might mess around and waste a bit of his time, but no luck this round.

Honestly, the easiest way to avoid all this hassle is just not picking up calls from numbers you don’t know. If you happen to pick up by mistake, say something like you don’t handle business over the phone and then just end the call. Loads of folks reckon their info’s been shared around by companies they’ve used, but actually, it’s creepier than that. Every time you go online, scammers grab bits of your personal info bit by bit until they basically know everything about you.

Made me think it was a bit of a cheeky sales call!

I must admit, my patience wore thin, and I rather curtly asked them to leave me be. I reached out to D & G, and to my surprise, they seemed completely oblivious to the situation but promised they'd look into it, especially regarding their sales reps. Quite the kerfuffle, if you ask me!

I’ve got caller ID set up, so I just bypassed the call since they didn’t leave a message. Did a quick search online and discovered the number's from County Durham, whereas I'm down in lovely Sussex. Clearly just another scam or a dodgy sales pitch!
