They're total scammers from India, no doubt. What bugs me is how they even manage to find out people’s names. Honestly, I’d love to hop on a plane to India and shut these con artists down for good, maybe even get them locked up.

Got a call from someone saying they were the “phone company” working “with Three,” promised a cheaper SIM deal. Almost believed it, but when I tried to tell them my name, they got oddly annoyed and I think they had it wrong anyway. Didn’t fancy putting up with that, so I hung up and blocked the number. Then, pretty much straight away, loads more calls came in from numbers like ‘0114 356 0016’ and ‘0114 356 0004’. Blocked those too. Definitely dodgy.

This is utter nonsense! It's definitely not Virgin Media; it’s just a call centre from India. As soon as I picked up, it was clear this number is a total scam - marked as spam right away!

This number rings me about three times every day, along with 01388212016, always saying they're from Carphone Warehouse. I always say I’m not interested and just end the call. Today, I told them again to remove me from their list and stop calling, 'cause it’s getting harassing. The bloke, with a really thick accent I could hardly understand, asked for my name. I refused to give any details, and then he claimed he worked for someone I couldn’t catch, before suddenly asking if I wanted a “big d**k” - kept repeating it! I just cut the call straight away.

My phone showed a number from Bishop Auckland, England, which popped up on my iPhone. When I picked up, I was met with the noise of a bustling Indian call centre and a lady with a strong accent introducing herself as Maria, claiming she was ringing from Carphone Warehouse. I quickly told her off and she ended the call.

I've had a run-in with a call centre from India, and I must say, steer clear of their offers! Honestly, it's all a bit dodgy. Got this call from someone speaking with a really thick Indian accent, but the line was so bad it was barely understandable. They sounded like they were just reading off a script, trying hard to convince me they were from my service provider. I played along, saying yes and agreeing for about ten minutes. Got a call from someone claiming to be Peter, speaking with a thick Indian accent, saying he was ringing from Carphone about upgrading my mobile plan. I tried to get some details and asked what the deal involved - he mentioned an iPhone with unlimited calls, texts and data for just £20 a month. I told him my current plan is actually better than that. Then he asked who my provider is and how much I pay. That’s when I told him he was a scammer and hung up straight away. I’ve reported it to all the relevant places since.

I got a call from a woman who claimed to be from “Virgin Media,” but her accent was really thick, maybe Asian, and her English was hard to follow. When I asked her to confirm she was really with Virgin Media, she just stayed quiet. Then I asked her to give me my name and address, and she immediately said sorry and hung up. The call quality sounded poor, so I reckon it was probably coming from overseas - maybe India or somewhere similar.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse saying I was eligible for a mobile upgrade, which isn’t true at all. What annoyed me most is that they called my emergency contact number, meant only for my two closest family members, so I thought it was really important. When I asked where they got my number from, the guy said it was given by my husband. Thing is, my ex husband died three years ago, so I told him that. Then he had the nerve to say, “Ma'am, I am your husband.” I couldn’t believe it and just hung up and blocked the number straight away. I picked up because the number looked like it was from a local area, so I guessed it might be my nearby GP clinic. Turned out to be someone with really poor English claiming to be from EE, telling me I was up for a phone upgrade - but I’ve never dealt with them. When I questioned why the caller ID was showing my tiny rural town and asked where they were calling from, they just hung up. You could hear loads of noise from a call centre in the background. What freaks me out is how they must have my exact postcode to fake the location, so what else do they know about us? I’ve blocked that number straight away.
