Just got a call from this number and it turned out to be a total scam, be careful!

So dodgy, I just ended the call straight away. The bloke claimed he was from BT and that my internet was at risk, even though I’ve got antivirus installed. He told me someone was supposedly using my IP in some other country, but couldn’t say where or why. Complete rubbish if you ask me!

I got a couple of calls over two days from an Asian bloke saying he was from Microsoft. He told me my computer was under attack from hackers trying to break in. Then he asked if I even owned a computer! Three calls in total, proper annoying.

Over the past four days, I've received four calls from this number on my landline. The caller claimed to be from the "BT technical department" but had a noticeably strong foreign accent. I clocked it straight away as a scam, and I told him to "get lost and brush up on the language of this country." I never entertained any dialogue with the bloke, but on one occasion, my wife answered and he spun a yarn about our internet being faulty and that he was calling from BT to sort it out. I've received yet another call from this number, which is just the newest addition to a seemingly endless stream of calls from different digits, all purporting to be from BT's tech support. When I requested some proof of their association with BT, they were completely unable to provide any. In fact, I had a prior caller who quite rudely told me to "go away" after I expressed my doubts about their legitimacy. It seems they can get flustered just like the rest of us!

this bloke with an asian accent rang me up saying my ip address was in trouble. i kept pressing him for details, like what’s going on and what i should do, but he kept giving these vague answers like “we just know it’s happened”. he reckoned he was a bt tech from london, but i thought it was weird he was calling from a dudley landline? looked like a dodgy call to me.

Received a call supposedly from BT, but upon checking with the actual BT, they confirmed they hadn’t made any such call. Just a heads up to everyone - stay vigilant!
