I received a call from 01372 619689 at 11:23 this morning. When I picked up, the line went dead. Since I'm ex-directory, I'm curious as to how they managed to obtain my number. I've now added them to my blocked list!

Received three phone calls in just two days from someone claiming to be from BT. I played along and mentioned that I was a BT technician myself. That seemed to do the trick, as he abruptly ended the call!

I had a rather peculiar experience earlier today. A gentleman with an unfamiliar accent rang me, asserting that he was from BT. When I responded with a hint of disbelief, saying “oh really?” he promptly hung up on me. Strangely enough, when I tried to ring the number back, it turned out to be unreachable. Quite the dodgy encounter, I must say!

No message was left, and it seems from the other remarks that the BT scammers have simply switched to a new number.

Received a call purporting to be from BT. I suspected it was dodgy straight away since they didn't know my name. If it had genuinely been BT, they'd have addressed me properly.

I've tried calling, but it seems that Winston Churchill isn't picking up on my mobile or landline – no call backs at all!

Managed to ascend to British Telecom, and as usual, the saga continued – my internet was cut off once again! I directed him to take a hike.

I received a missed call from this number and they didn’t bother to leave a message. The area code points to Esher, but I’m not familiar with anyone from that area. Taking the tip from another user's experience, I’ve decided it’s best not to return the call.

Just received a rather amusing phone call claiming to be from BT, insisting that my internet was ‘corrupted’—what a riot! They were angling for access to my laptop, but when I pointed out that I knew this was a scam, they promptly hung up. Quite the comedy, really!
