Just got a call from 01372 619689 at about 11:23 today, I picked up and they immediately hung up on me. I’m listed ex-directory, so how exactly do they have my number 7727? I’ve blocked it now.

Got a call from a bloke with a really thick Indian accent, kept going on about computer hacks and some dangerous stuff. Sounded like he was in a noisy call centre or something. Had to ask him like twice to say it again cos I couldn’t catch what he was saying. Ended up just hanging up. Tried 1471 to see who it was but no luck, no details at all. Then the phone buzzed again around 10.36 in the morning. Let it ring about ten times and then it went dead. It was the same Esher number as before. Proper annoying!

Got 3 calls over two days from someone claiming to be BT. Told him I work for BT as well, then he just ended the call.

Got a call from a bloke with a really foreign accent who said he was from BT. When I replied with a sceptical “really?”, he just hung up on me. Tried ringing the number back but it was dead. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

Didn’t get any message, but from what others are saying, seems like BT might’ve fooled folks again and switched to a different number.

This bloke rings me all the time and sounds just like others have said. I played along for a few minutes while he prattled on about my computer being in danger. Then I told him he must think I’m daft. He said yeah, probably, and then just cut me off. Proper cheeky, trying to pull a scam and being downright rude as well.

Somebody said they were from BT but I could tell it was dodgy since they didn’t even know my name. If it was really BT, surely they’d have called me properly? Definitely a scam.

If you save Winston Churchill on your mobile or landline, they never seem to call you back. Strange how that works!

got a call from someone claiming to be from bt tech support, but with a strong chinese accent. he said they needed to disconnect my internet for 2 weeks due to some issue. i asked if it was real and told them to send someone from the uk to call me back. when i tried calling the number back, the message said the number wasn’t valid. blocked it straight away, won’t be picking up if they ring again.

Switched over to BT and got the same nonsense - internet goes down all the time. Ended up telling the bloke exactly what I thought of it.

Got a missed call, but they didn't leave a message. The area code is from Esher, but I don't know anyone around there. I'm going to take the advice from others and not return the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT, telling me my internet was all messed up - honestly nearly laughed out loud. They then tried to get on my laptop, but as soon as I said I knew it was a scam, the bloke just dropped the call.
