They rang my mobile, and I never share my number with anyone, so how on earth did they get hold of it to ring me? I didn’t pick up as I hardly ever carry my mobile around; I mostly keep it at home to call family or for reading stuff. I’ve now blocked their number and wiped it from my contacts. I’d recommend others to do likewise.

I stupidly filled out this survey back on 16 June 2020 and said no to all questions about contact preferences. Since then, I've been bombarded with calls from unknown numbers. I picked up a couple, and they were trying to go over my life insurance policy. When I told them I never agreed to be contacted, they claimed I must've opted in somehow. Absolutely sketchy! It infuriates me that my info was shared with others despite me clearly saying NO! This is a real trust issue, and honestly, they deserve a hefty fine for this.

Somebody rang me earlier claiming they were from a company, going on about how much I'd save by installing solar panels. He never mentioned which company he was with, so I just hung up.

Googled Verso and found a pretty eye-opening BBC article from 2017 revealing they were slapped with an £80,000 fine for making over 40 million nuisance calls by sharing your survey answers with other telemarketers. Best to not engage, just hang up and block them.

I looked the number up here and found it’s connected to a firm called Verso. When I googled Verso, I found a BBC piece from 2017 saying they got fined £80,000 for making over 40 million annoying calls by sharing info from their surveys with other marketing companies. Best not to even start answering - just hang up and block.

I kinda felt sorry for the bloke, so I said alright. With his not-so-great English, Richard went through like 20 questions about what I spend my money on and what I do online.
