The voice on the line had that strange, mechanical tone-definitely not human. They urged me to press number three to get in touch with a customer service representative, claiming my Amazon account had been suspended due to some dodgy transactions made without my permission. When I tried to ring back, it said there was a problem. My 89 year old dad is in hospital with heart failure and my 91 year old mum's home alone with carers coming 4 times a day. Our landline’s the emergency contact for both of them. It's also on the TPS list and has anonymous call rejection on.
