01316186038 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01316186038 👆 is reported as a scam involving fictitious sellers, notably "Gordon Miller" and others like "Kathleen Ringrose" and "Helen Wright," who claim to offer valuable second-hand items linked to a deceased daughter. They request payments via Paysafe card vouchers for courier fees to a fake company named BTS Logistics, typically demanding initial shipping fees followed by additional insurance charges, which are also scams. The supposed courier company and individuals do not exist, and no goods are ever delivered. Victims commonly lose sums ranging from £25 to over £130, with attempts to recover funds being largely unsuccessful. The scam is widespread on platforms like Gumtree and Freecycle, and caution is strongly advised; if an offer sounds too good to be true or involves voucher payments upfront, it should be treated with scepticism and reported to the authorities.

They’re pulling some dodgy scams in Scotland then suddenly claim they’ve shifted to Sussex. Had a look on the BTS site... seems tied up with Lago or something. These freecycle nonsense ain’t true at all... total rubbish if you ask me.

Beware of a scam involving someone called Gordon Miller and a fake courier called BTS Courier-Logistics. I was almost caught out by a man claiming to sell a bike that supposedly belonged to his late daughter who died from blood cancer. He said he’d moved to Scotland and wanted me to pay for the delivery using Paysafe cards. Turns out both the seller and the courier are completely made up. I’m glad I didn’t send any money, as I searched online and found loads of people had fallen for the same trick. The numbers linked to this scam are 0330 001 0489 and 0333 303 1313. Watch out!

I spotted a bike ad on Gumtree and got a call from a guy named Gordon Miller. He said the bike belonged to his daughter who sadly passed away from blood cancer. He asked me to pay £50 for the courier via BT Logistics. After that, I got an email telling me to cough up another £75, again in paysafe vouchers. Tried to reach the place but no chance, totally unreachable. The parcel never turned up. Turned out to be a total con and I’ve lost £125. The website looked genuine, but it’s just one big scam. They ignore calls and disappear with your money.

Hey, have you tried getting in touch with Paysafe? I'm stuck in the same boat and can't find a way to reach them straight up. Any tips?

I got a call from someone named Kathleen at BTS Logistics, saying I could get a free kitchen aid after I replied to an advert. The number she called from was 03333034437.

I got caught up in the same scam involving BTS Logistics and someone calling herself Kathleen Ringrose. They told me some sob story about a daughter battling cancer and wanting to buy a pottery wheel. It feels so cold and heartless. First they want cash for delivery, then they ask for some kind of refundable insurance, which makes no sense at all...

Did they happen to go by Kathleen Ringrose or something like that?

Blimey, I've been done over just like that and ended up handing over £130. Does anyone know if there's a chance to reclaim that cash?

I’m pretty sure I’ve been ripped off by the number 0131 6186038. While browsing the freecycle page for Bognor Regis, I saw a HD mixer listed. The person advertising it was called Helen Wright. I got in touch to ask if it was still available and she said she’d just moved to Edinburgh. She even sent me a photo of the mixer and offered to post it to me as long as I covered the postage costs. Later a firm named BTS Logistics got in touch, asking me to send £35 in paysafe vouchers before shipping the item. After a day, they messaged again saying they needed insurance payment too - £50 more in vouchers, supposedly refundable. Feeling uneasy, I reached out to Helen again and she assured me everything was alright and said sorry for not mentioning the insurance before. Foolishly, I went ahead and sent the extra vouchers. Now I realise it’s definitely a scam. I plan to report this to Sussex Police and alert freecycle about the fraud.

Hey, I had almost the same experience! I received a message about a £30 voucher and tried to access the link while at work. The browser flagged the site as dodgy, which seemed odd, so I googled "btslogisticsltd9" and found this page warning about it. Proper glad I didn’t get caught out by this scam, I was nearly fooled! It’s terrible how these scammers prey on folks just trying to buy second-hand stuff. They really ought to be punished for this rubbish. Really frustrating!

Beware of a scam on Freecycle - don’t ever send money to a courier!
Someone was advertising expensive items, then suddenly said they’d moved away but could send it via courier for £30 if I bought a paysafe voucher and sent a pic of it to their supposed courier.
I’ve reported this straight to Freecycle.

Here’s the message I received. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is:

“I’m here with the courier and they’re doing the registration now. They told me payments are made like this: you need to buy a £30 Paysafe voucher from any local shop, petrol station or newsagent, then email a photo of the voucher along with your full name and delivery address to the email below. They’ll check the voucher details and email you a confirmation. If all goes well, they’ll send tracking info and delivery time.”

I had a very similar experience to what others described here. They wanted me to pay for shipping with a voucher or Paysafecard which seemed odd. I actually called Paysafecard myself and managed to get my money back. Luckily, I spotted it soon after sending my details, and they hadn’t even redeemed the voucher yet.

I came across a Freecycle post about a pricey item and got interested. After a couple days, the person messaged me saying they'd recently relocated to Edinburgh. They then arranged shipping through some made-up company named BTS Logistics: http://btslogisticsltd9.webnode.com/. Ended up losing £30 to this scam.
