12 yearsReceived a rather convincing phone call earlier today (22/04/14) from a seemingly genuine young woman regarding the renewal of our listing on "Google" for the tidy sum of £299 plus VAT. I requested an email confirmation, and to my surprise, it was addressed to me personally instead of our business name. She rang again around half past eight this evening to finalise the payment. I must say, we're not inclined to proceed with this offer!Google12 yearsI had no idea there was this kind of scam aimed at companies with an online footprint! This morning, on Tuesday, the 8th of April, I received a call from a woman. I asked her to ring back when things were a bit less hectic. When she did get back to me, she seemed incredibly convincing and managed to persuade me that I needed to fork out £299 plus VAT to keep our web hosting active. At first, I was hesitant to make any payment, but somehow, she assured me that I would receive all the details and a receipt via email right away! I'm usually quite vigilant about these sorts of telephone transactions-how on earth did I fall for this trick?13 yearsI just received a phone call from a woman named Katrina requesting £299.99 for something related to Google. It’s a total scam! Avoid paying anything!KatrinaGoogleSubmit Your Own Report (0131 510 1299)
