Earlier today (22/04/14), a young woman called me about updating our listing on "Google" - she said it would cost £299 plus VAT. I requested an email, but when it arrived it was addressed to me personally, not our company. Later that evening, around 8.30pm, she rang back wanting the payment. I’m pretty sure this isn’t something we’ll be doing!

Had no clue about this scam hitting businesses with websites. Got a call from a woman on Tuesday 8th April this morning, she asked to ring back when things were less busy. When I called back, she seemed really convincing and told me we had to pay £299 plus VAT to keep our web hosting. I said no at first but then she somehow persuaded me by promising to send all the info and a receipt straight away by email! Normally I’m super cautious about paying over the phone, I can’t believe I got tricked like this.

Got a call from someone named Katrina, asking me to pay £299.99 for Google stuff. Total scam, don’t fall for it!!!
