Got a few calls this week from someone saying they were Vodafone. Pretty clear it was a scam.

They said they were with Vodafone but didn’t even know my email or my name. Then they started chatting about some “free” tech offer that sounded a bit off to me.

When I asked him to clarify where he was calling from, he kept mumbling and wouldn't say clearly. After a bit of that, he got annoyed and just hung up on me. Not long after, a phone number one digit away from mine got the exact same rubbish call. Wish I'd steered clear of it.

Just another nuisance call.

Got a call from some place pretending to be Vodafone, but it was obvious they weren’t. They were pushing some rubbish iPhone offer. When I told them I already have a phone and wasn’t interested in an iPhone, they just ended the call. I’ve made sure to block that number so they can’t bother me again.

Was a total waste of time, just some Indian bloke trying to scam me. I cut the call off straight away.

Beware of these bogus call centres in India pretending they’re from Vodafone. It’s best to stay clear and tell your older relatives and friends about it, as they’re often the easiest targets for these sorts of scams.

On 6th December, I got a call from a bloke with an 0131 number. He claimed he was with SKY and was trying to push some 40% off deal. Sounded like one of those call centre calls from Mumbai or somewhere similar. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone with a strong Indian accent saying they were from EE and could give me a 30% cut on my bill. As soon as I told them I knew it was dodgy, they just hung up fast.

They claimed I could get 40% off my phone calls but when I asked for any info about my bill to prove it was real, they just wouldn’t provide anything. Very fishy.

Got a call with no number showing up. Just blocked it right away.

I usually don’t bother answering if I don’t recognise the number, and since they didn’t leave a message, I figured it wasn’t anything important, so no point stressing about it.

Got a ring but they hung up before I could pick up. I decided to ring them back since I have a bunch of mates in Edinburgh. The way they set things up and the answering service felt pretty sketchy. Honestly, I reckon it was a scam!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Vodafone, saying I could get an upgrade to the new iPhone 15 Pro Max for £35 a month. I gave them my name and email to hear more, but then I thought, hang on a sec, so I asked them to just send me an email instead. Still waiting for anything to come through. When I checked online, Vodafone’s official prices don’t match what they told me, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam.

They tried to get my 4 digit pin, which felt odd cause Vodaphone usually just asks for 2 numbers. Seems a bit fishy to me.

Got a call from this number but they had no clue who I was or any of my info. Sounds dodgy, probably just trying to scam people out of their details.

Really stubborn caller! It was a 3 mobile rep with a strong South Asian accent. They kept offering a new phone deal - £25 a month for 24 months with unlimited calls and data. I told them straight up I suspected it was some kind of scam but they just didn’t give up. Kept pushing to get my personal info and bank details, which I wasn’t having at all.

This number kept ringing my kid’s phone a few times, so I tried calling back about four times but no one picked up. When I looked it up, loads of people said it was a scam, so watch out for it.

They claimed to be from Vodafone, but as soon as I mentioned I use EE, they just dropped the call.
