Got a call supposedly from O2 but clearly sounded like some call centre out of India or somewhere in Asia - total scam!

Some bloke rang me saying he was from Vodafone, but the call kept cutting out and he sounded like he had an Indian accent, so I instantly thought it might be dodgy. He didn’t bother asking me to prove who I was and seemed like he was just reading something off a piece of paper. I told him I wasn’t up for it and have since gone ahead and blocked the number.

Got a call from someone with a foreign accent, couldn't really make out most of what she was saying. She cut me off mid-sentence with "...the reason for my call today..." and then just hung up. Figured it was best to block the number - no point in dealing with it if they’re not going to stick around.

Without a doubt, total scam artists.

There was this woman on the phone with a strong Indian accent, and honestly, I could hardly make out what she was saying. I ended the call pretty quickly and blocked the number straight away because it felt like a scam. I mean, who in their right mind would employ someone to talk to customers if they speak English that poorly? Well, except maybe Birmingham City Council - they seem a bit clueless themselves!

On 17 November 2023 around 2.08pm, I got a call where the first person talking was really hard to understand. Then they passed me onto someone else who was just as confusing. In the end, I just had to hang up because I couldn't make sense of either of them, but they kept calling back.

I received a dodgy call from someone pretending to be from O2, attempting to fish for my account info. They claimed they could grant me a whopping 40% off my bill! Quite the scam, if you ask me...

This sounds like a total scam to me. Someone rang saying they were from O2 offering a 40% discount on my bill. Thing is, I don’t even have an O2 account! When I asked them what plan I was supposedly on or which email they'd use to send details, the woman on the other end just cut me off. They used my work phone to call, which has nothing to do with O2 at all. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from Vodafone, saying they had some special deals for me. I told him Vodafone isn’t even my network. He was adamant he wasn’t after my bank info. Said his name was Alvin Joseph and gave some silly number, something like 142? Pretty dodgy if you ask me.
