I recently encountered a gentleman by the name of Lucian Livadaru, who claimed to represent a fraud department for Nationwide Building Society. He insisted that my banking details had been jeopardised and urged me to transfer my funds without delay. He even provided me with a badge number-208956, if I remember correctly. Regrettably, I took his word for it and ended up transferring a staggering £25,000 into a so-called 'secure' account that he arranged for me. Now, I find myself completely in the dark regarding access to this new account, and I have no clue where my hard-earned money has gone. Interestingly, I also received calls around the same time from a number that was quite similar, albeit with the last four digits ending in 0380.

I received a rather distressing call from 01313670382 at 12:47 on the 4th of February. The caller claimed that £300 had been deducted from my card, along with an additional £1,100 to some Amazon International entity. Given I had just recently made a legitimate transaction for £300, I must admit, I was quite taken aback. When I probed further about their identity, the individual introduced himself as "Peter Johns" or something akin to that, speaking in a rather peculiar American Asian accent. I promptly informed him that I believed he was attempting to deceive me and ended the call. It was a rather frightening experience, to say the least. As this number is already flagged as fraudulent, one must wonder why telecommunications providers haven’t taken measures to address such issues? Sincerely distressed, a very concerned 79-year-old.
